Got it from people at work. Feel bloody awful. Of course im doing the cooking. Or maybe not who knows. Dh has it too, coughing all over the place.

If you're hosting, cancel! For your own sake and that of your guests.

If you're not hosting, fuck it and get a takeaway, you can do the big dinner another day when you feel better.

My DH and I have had the most awful colds for over a week. Not flu but blooming horrible. I'm only just feeling ok after 8 days - DH feeling rubbish still after 12: days. No way would we have been able to either host or be guests if we'd got it nearer Xmas.

Hosting on the actual day, or before? If not until Thursday, you’ll be fine. Get lots of protein in you, hydrate and quality vitamins - plus decent sleep. Be optimistic!

Yes not until Thurs so resting and drinking plenty lucozade in the meantime

Were you better for xmas in the end? We started with the flu on the 21st and finally managed to get out of bed on the 31st for a short time. Still feel awful worth heavy colds now. We were all 'healthy' before this and ate 2 adults and kids of various ages 😫 it was horrendous
