What’s on the festive agenda for today.

I slowly and surely feel like I’m getting there.

Today my list consists of…

ordering gift cards for Nieces.
order a money wallet for DD
wrap and pack family boxes to be sent off in this afternoon’s post (will make this festive with DD who is back from uni with mulled wine etc)
Source two lots of wrapping paper pack (different colours/prints)
Write food shop list with DH this evening (with wine!!)

It didn’t seem like too much, until I wrote it down! 😅 What’s on everyone’s festive list today.

Turning DH’s office into a bedroom for eldest DGS. Biggest issue is working out where the heck the bloody Lego Milennium Death Star is going for the period of the visit!
wrap the last of the pressies needed for Xmas Day (others aren’t needed until 2nd Xmas at the end of the month so they will stay in their hiding places)
make the Yorkies for Boxing Day and get them in the freezer

This weekend is decorate tree and other rooms downstairs.

Taking my daughter on a Christmas train ride (not the polar express). She loves steam trains so she's very excited 😁

I've done all of the wrapping and shopping and other boring tasks, so today we are making paper chains, making snowball pom poms and watching a Christmas film, and not getting out of our PJs all day.

Modern life is marvellous. I can remember when my husband and I used to take a day off to go to Bluewater Christmas shopping. Pure hell.

I’m still lying in bed, but I have just spent £460 ordering gifts from John Lewis. Delivery tomorrow.

When I can be arsed, I’m going to get up and tidy the guest room and change the bed.

Not wrapping as the wrapping delivery has gone AWOL!

Light trail later, might go for a walk and post the local Christmas cards shortly.

Had food shopping delivered this morning and already have a running list of things I forgot to order.

Having a lie-in. The past week has been busy, and anyway, I hate mornings.

Then decorate the tree, wrap some presents that I need for tomorrow, and off to a light trail with my kids, in-laws and grandkids.

Does watching the Strictly final on catch-up whilst drinking all the wine count as festive?

Bought a few stocking fillers, despite not having stockings but they'll be under the tree.
Generally wandering the shops and then going out for a pre-christmas date. Something we've done since before date nights were a thing.

We have overnight guests arriving soon. Long boring story but neither them or us are particularly pleased about this arrangement. But everyone is being too polite to say or do anything about it. (Husband's repressed family.)

But we're going out for a nice dinner and I will have several glasses of wine so that's not so bad.

Mine is totally not festive but I’ve done a spring clean of my bedroom and home office that I’ve been putting off for six months because life got in the way. DH took the kids out for 4 hours and I’ve filled five bin bags of rubbish and stuff for the charity shop. I feel so much better for it and will be able to finish my wrapping tomorrow. Food shop delivery on Monday evening as I’m working Monday and Tuesday. Then I’m done 🙌🏻

Fresh bedding., quick tidy round- I’ve deep cleaned this week already and done my food shop. Spending a festive afternoon with my friend and our girls at the Christmas markets 🥰

Nothing very festive as all shopping and wrapping is done but lots of washing as we are going away for Christmas

Added more lights to the Christmas tree because I felt like it was a bit dark.

Did some wrapping but quite a lot left to do.

This evening we’ll be finalising the menu for Christmas Eve through to Boxing Day so we can put together the final shopping list.

I’m having friends over for dinner tomorrow so starting the prep for that. Will think about Christmas after I’ve cleaned up !
still to go is all my wrapping, my Christmas dinner shopping (we’ll do that on Xmas Eve late on) shopping for our Christmas Day party.

Building a new dining room table that was delivered yesterday.
Tomorrow we are going to my mother in laws to see my little niece and nephew who are 2 and 6 who have informed me they are super dooper excited for Father Christmas. I love being around children this young at this time of year, it’s so lovely to see how happy it makes them.

Trying to fix the Christmas lights to the mantelpiece.... failing that they are going on the tree!! 🎄😂 Already have some soft glow ones....the Christmas lights are a bit more in your face Lol

Err … well the parcels have arrived at the Amazon boxes and the Argos stuff is at well Argos for pick up. I need to make a list of what else I need as I only have time Monday pm. On the up side I picked up vegan wine.

Woke at 6 am with migrain.. managed to make a cuppa and go back to bed...
Got up at 10 am and had a croissant... had my shower and then put some washing in ..Sainsburys delivery arrived at 1.. daughter coming round in a while to collect the shopping we need for Christmas.. l buy her and her wife cooks..
Made up Chocolate bags for Grandkids.. l don't buy selection boxes.. but various packs of Chocolate bars etc and split them into Christmas gifts bags...along with Chocolate coins and some other sweets.
Then I've laid on sofa and with amount of 12 hour voltarol I've got on it's a wonder if not slipped off.🤣 and watched Miracle on 34th st...Only 3 more presents to wrap.. having take away tonight.
