My husband…he appears to only be here for decoration at Christmas and NY.
No help at all!!! Out of his depth.
Great the rest of the year.

Christmas tree baubles from the 1940s and 1960s - belonged to my grandparents and parents. They were on our tree when I was a child and it feels very specials to still be using them (they are extremely fragile!!)

I have a few things from the late 50s/early 60s but the oldest decoration I have bought must be about 20 years old now. Pretty glass baubles from a fancy garden centre and some over the top Christmas animals from Paperchase.

Me.

TiggersTheOnlyOne · 19/12/2025 11:44

Two Christmas posters from 1970’s and a cardboard Santa ans reindeer from 1980’s

MrsLeonFarrell · 19/12/2025 11:47

A Christmas pixie from the late 60s that sadly looks like that sodding elf on the shelf doll. Fortunately no young children though.

An angel that was made by my mum for my great granny from a peg, it's 70yo. It is adorable.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 19/12/2025 11:52

A robin, which belonged to my parents, and is from the 60s.

TheCountessAtChristmas · 19/12/2025 11:54

Babies first christmas bauble for MY first christmas, 1990.

Aposterhasnoname · 19/12/2025 12:04

Ive got a silver santa bauble that I bought in harrods about thirty years ago

HeadyLamarr · 19/12/2025 12:06

A pinecone wreath my parents made in 1982, and a couple of tree decorations I made with my mum in 1981.

Shufflebumnessie · 19/12/2025 12:07

This bauble (hopefully photo should load). I believe it's from the mid - late 70s. It's older than me (just!). My mum was getting rid of Christmas decorations and I took it, wish I'd taken more.

What's your oldest Christmas decoration?
WolfFoxHare · 19/12/2025 12:08

I have decorations that must be fifty or sixty years old - inherited from my mum and gran.

SeaToSki · 19/12/2025 12:10

My Grandmothers candle holder, its circular, wooden and has little wooden angels praying interspersed with the candle holders. She was given it by my Grandpa for their first Christmas together in 1932.

WilfredsPies · 19/12/2025 12:20

I’ve got a battered old robin that my nan gave my mum before I was born and that my mum gave me. I’m 50, so it has to be 55-60 years old.

LoudPlumDog · 19/12/2025 12:20

Venetian glass baubles from the sixties.

firstofallimadelight · 19/12/2025 12:57

My eldest is 25 so probably her 1st Christmas ornament.

BellRock1234 · 19/12/2025 13:55

A robin, from my Gran's tree. I am not sure how long she had it for. It's at least 40yo, but probably 50, I would say.

TheSandgroper · 19/12/2025 13:56

My mother’s nativity. Circa 1960. I love it.

reluctantbrit · 19/12/2025 17:32

Some wooden figures from the German Ore Mountain region.

We aren't 100% sure but they could be from 1950 when my dad flew from East Germany to the West with his family.

EndlessHolidayWashing · 19/12/2025 17:39

Two brass reindeer shaped baubles and two wooden cut out shapes of a partridge in a pear tree. First baubles I ever bought for myself, around 22 years ago.

I was delighted to find a brass candle holder made out of a ring of the same reindeer in a local charity shop at Christmas last year.

shellyleppard · 19/12/2025 17:40

I have wooden Christmas decorations i brought when I was pregnant with my eldest one.... he's now 20!!! My dads Christmas decorations are 50 year's old.....❄️⛄😁 I can remember buying them when I was little

Cantthinkofadifferentname · 19/12/2025 17:41

Christmas bells made from egg box covered in foil, I made at playschool more than 50 years ago

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 19/12/2025 17:44

Probably a fairy tree topper but she's too frail now and lives in a box in the loft has been retired. Next oldest is a cherub who's hanging on the tree right next to me now, and is about 55 years old.

RealChristmasBaby · 19/12/2025 18:03

I have a little fairy that I bought with my Dad when I was about nine (so over 50 years ago). He passed away when I was 11 so that is very very precious to me for obvious reasons.
My friend bought me a Holly Hobbie bauble for my first christmas tree in my flat in 1981. Have many decorations dating back to the 1980's, I used to spend my christmas bonus in Harrods 😁on decorations. They ALL make me happy and I buy new stuff every year even though I say I won't....
