I need ideas for what DD and DH could get me as I honestly have no clue but at the same time I don't want nothing lol. I seem to have reached that age where I already have what I need / want, but maybe you lot can give me an idea.

The only thing I've asked for, amd actually already got, was a couple of buxus trees in pots for either side of my front door...!

I said to my family that I don't want lotions and potions I'll never use so anything I do get will be a total surprise. My dm, dsis and I did say we'll do a spa day in the new year in lieu of masses of gifts

TantrumsAndBalloons · 18/12/2025 14:38

I am getting a SAD lamp, a jigsaw, earrings, running shoes and a hoodie, from my wishlist :)

DH and I didn’t know what to get each other. We’re at that nice stage of having what we need.

But with my retirement imminent and intending to travel a fair bit including the U.K., he came up with an idea - which I’m quite happy with - a telescope which will automatically find celestial objects.

it might possibly be a bit nicheGrin

Rocknrollstar · 18/12/2025 14:47

A spa weekend?
A new suitcase
Books or a kindle

TBH all i want is peace and quiet but that’s not going to happen

sprigatito · 18/12/2025 14:49

I have no idea what I’m getting, because DH is militant about surprises. He’s never disappointed me yet though. I am vaguely hoping for nice toiletries, baking equipment and a couple of decent books.

FrightfulNightfull · 18/12/2025 15:02

A rather niche object that I’m not sure I want but I do sort of need - a photography light box. I want it insofar as I want to take good photos of the art I paint but I wish it wasn’t so expensive.
Other art related smaller items I’ve chosen (a brush for varnishing, brushes for oil painting as I kill mine off too easily) and books.

Most of the gifts I’ve bought were books (requested), the creams and lotions etc, vinyl record, board games (DH)..

I can’t think of many things I’d want if I didn’t paint. A nice jumper maybe.

A lovely big lined box to put all my
make up in so I can see it, some chocolates, a cookbook I want

itsthetea · 18/12/2025 15:07

Gig tickets
I need new shoes
i can always make a list of books

happytobemrsg · 18/12/2025 16:04

MIL’s bf always gives us a list of things for Christmas/January birthday & I’m always so jealous! He’s retired & has lots of hobbies & interests - things like models to build, really hard jigsaw puzzles, DVDs etc. Every year my stuff seemed so boring. So it sounds stupid but I told Chat GPT all of my current interests - fun things like Stranger Things, certain book genres, things I want to learn more about - & it helped me put some really fun things on my Christmas list (I pick the stuff from my parents & ILs). Very excited this year!

New Roberts DAB alarm system for by bed other one just died - this in one thing from the “house”

Fridaysgirl17 · 18/12/2025 16:08

I got a slow cooker (from my dad) I did ask for it,new trainers, some make up from Made by Mitchell & I'm gonna get myself some yummy snacks (single mother to young kids so they will be from them). Also whatever kids make in school.

Starlight1984 · 18/12/2025 16:35

Absolutely nothing! Me and DH agreed a few weeks ago to buy an original painting by an artist we love and that was our Christmas present to each other (for the next 5 years 😂)

yetanotherchristmas · 18/12/2025 16:41

I’ve bought myself some linocutting tools - decent ones! They are to myself.
I’ve bought PJs linocutting books, and am getting some rokr wooden kits all from hubby and kids!

Theda13 · 18/12/2025 16:43

I wrote a wish list consisting of a LEGO set, a framed poster, several books, a lipgloss and a tortoiseshell comb.

I don’t know which ones will be bought (if any) though. It keeps an element of surprise.

DinoLil · 18/12/2025 16:46

My mum has bought me some new towels. I've bought myself a pearl and silver bracelet on black Friday.

Howlongisittomynextholiday · 18/12/2025 16:53

I couldn't think of anything I wanted either and DH is difficult to buy for, so we're treating a European city break in spring as our present to each other.

Overtheatlantic · 18/12/2025 17:04

Carry on bag
Tennis bracelet
Curling tongs
Socks

Miranda65 · 18/12/2025 17:08

I don't know because Christmas is a week away, and my husband always gives me a surprise present. Been no problem with that for the last 30+ years.

Otherwise, I have a fridge full of cheese from people who sent hampers - no complaints there, either!

Gorbie · 18/12/2025 17:09

A new waterproof coat and new headphones for the gym. Not very exciting but I desperately need a new coat and I've been buying cheap headphones that are rubbish so I've got some better more expensive ones for Christmas

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 18/12/2025 17:17

Dh Has got me a velvet coat from whitestuff, a gold paper link 🔗 necklace and some some Charlotte tilbury makeup. He’s also getting surprises that he’s picked and they are always awesome so I look forward to those. He’s a great present buyer and really pays attention. I’ve had things like Mandy annuals as I’ve mentioned in the past how much I used to love them and Enid blyton books that I read as a child. Me, on the other hand, forget what people like the minute I’m told 🤦🏻‍♀️

MissyB1 · 18/12/2025 17:26

New PJs from White company- I’m very excited for those 😂
A St Eval candle
Fingerless gloves.

mcmuffin22 · 18/12/2025 17:28

I would love a massive cashmere scarf but I am annoyingly fussy. Most things I would prefer to choose for myself 😁
