My favourite Christmas lights have broken

Now the tree just has an unsatisfying number of plain white lights on it. I am absolutely gutted, I loved our Christmas tree lights. Thinking of checking out The Range and B&Q for some replacements unless anyone has a better idea?

LED lights or bulb?

Obviously old bulb lights can just be replaced individually.

If they are LED it probably isn't fixable, because it will depend where the break is. I got lucky last year. My son's lights stopped working, and I realized that one of the cables had just come unattached from the control board. A bit of re-soldering and they worked again. So perhaps if you or your partner are into DIY/fixing things, you might be able to solve it, depending on where the issue is.

I went to both yesterday, when I discovered the transformer on my lights was broken; and I couldn't get a new one. Both shops were nearly out of stock, so I ordered some from Amazon, with Prime delivery.

Sadly, they aren't designed to last forever. Our outdoor ones had to go this year- I put them up and switched them on only to notice that more than half had gone out. :(

They are cheap to replace though.
