I have won a day

My mum’s birthday was 19th November, this year a Wednesday.

She used to say on 19th ‘just five weeks to Christmas’.

I assumed therefore that Christmas Day would be on the Wednesday, that is, one week today.

Yesterday I was reading a message from ThamesLink about their schedules and was shouting about their idiocy in saying no trains on ‘Christmas Day Thursday 25th’.

DH politely corrected me.

I feel disproportionally cheered up by discovering that I have an extra day to get ready for everything, particularly the influx of family.

My birthday is also 19th Nov. And I've never even considered it 5 weeks (and 1 day) until christmas. But precisely 2 weeks later is my dad's birthday and precisely 2 weeks after that is my brothers and then I could 8 days until christmas. So I knew it without ever thinking about it

Funnily enough, I've been working on the premise that Xmas Day is on Wednesday as well. Consequently I'm well ahead, so might even suggest to DH we go out on Monday or Tuesday.

Enjoy your extra day but don't tell everyone as they might be envious!
