Just after a bit of inspiration please ☺️ DC has had the same key worker now for 3 years - this will be the last Christmas with her. Feel like I’ve done all the usual stuff between Christmas/end of year.

If you buy for teachers/key workers then please tell me what you’ve bought ☺️

I bought my sons teacher some fluffy socks, a herbal tea selection (she likes herbal tea) and a Costa voucher, she's lovely and my son really loves being in her class.

I've bought nut free, lactose free, halal Christmas themed sweets for 47 children. Consumables are accepted by all. I imagine I will receive several cards from kids and possibly a candle. I am often bought candles as school gifts (not usually at Christmas due to the school demographic) and like them very much; I think of the child who gave me it when I light it. I also really liked the excellent and very effective thermal mug, hot food dropped off at lunch and the special personalized stickers. Not keen on booze or chocolate.

I bought a box of chocolates & a box of chocolate biscuits for the staff room (gave it to them last week) to get through the last two weeks of term.

Nothing this year as the teacher is awful, always put in to the class collection but not this year.

A costa voucher in their christmas cards.

There's 5 for DDs class (2 teachers and 3 TAs). Costa vouchers is about as much imagination as I can go. Plus there's a drive through one about 5 minutes away from school.

Thanks all. Keyworker has certain dietary requirements due to a heath conditions so we try to avoid any forms of food and drink.

@narcASD Sorry the teacher is so awful 😔 hopefully your DC will only have that teacher for this year?
We are so unbelievably lucky with DCs keyworker - she really goes so far above and beyond and has helped DC so much over the last few years

Key worker- Fluffy socks, face mask and little set with cleanser/moisturiser etc and some novelty hot choc flavours.

Brought pack of cupcakes for all other girls who work there- there all fab

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 14/12/2025 22:14

I’ve bought nothing. It’s hard enough buying gifts for immediate family without including all the teachers too.

Whichone2024 · 14/12/2025 22:45

Initial candles for them all - (2 rooms and the and they blend occasionally so the other ladies help with LO too sometimes but also had him all the time when he was younger and still Share a close bond) plus a gift card for LO key worker.
Also chocolate to share and a wooden role play set for the room that LO is in of something I know they don’t have but would appreciate.

Nothing this year as the teacher is awful, always put in to the class collection but not this year.

A few of us clubbed together and twinned the nursery toilets with one in Africa as a thanks for all the bum wipes and management of toileting accidents.

Allergen-free, alcohol-free, vegan, halal etc etc. Shared by all staff not just one or two.👌

Key worker gift cards - how much?

Depends on your budget and what you can afford, how many y key workers, how much you want to spend.

I'd say £0 on a gift card, personally.

MaggieFS · 14/12/2025 23:17

M&S Voucher. Then they can choose what they actually like.

Ppppwwwwww · 14/12/2025 23:33

My DC are passed this stage and it makes me a little said when I see lots of videos of ideas on social media. One of my favourites was a little gift bag with a nice hand sanitiser, individual tissue packet, hand cream and lip balm. I think there may have also been a pair of bog standard black gloves. I think it was a really good idea as it is all things they can use within school and I bet they will be happy with the gloves when the forget theirs!

BeenChangedForGood · 15/12/2025 16:29

Thanks all for your ideas ☺️

One of those mug and hot chocolate set and a box of chocolates

narcASD · 15/12/2025 17:13

@BeenChangedForGood thank you! I feel really mean but she really has been a nightmare, my 9yo said she thinks she’s in the menopause as the teacher is grumpy & shouty like me 🤣
