Tomorrow we are going to our local pottery shop to do an annual painting of something for Christmas. For years we painted baubles for the tree (which I’m sure we will go back to) but this year we are painting special mugs which will be our Christmas mugs from this year onward. Last year we painted our own special plates and used them for Christmas dinner. I am just so excited!

Today we put the Christmas tree up which was lovely, then tomorrow we are doing our painting and it’s all feeling very real and Christmassy and lovely now. Just wanted to share

We're putting up our tree tomorrow too and I'm starting to feel the excited butterflies 😁 I've got a big chunk of time off over Christmas this year which is rare as hens teeth in my profession so I'm buzzing.

Show us your mug when it's done!

Literally the only thing I’m excited about this Xmas is time off from work. I’ve been the person in the family that’s had to plan it for so long, I’m done with it. It’s great that people feel this way. Out of interest, I wonder what your responsibilities have been so far with organising it? Is it that I’m just a miserable bastard?

We had such fun decorating the tree today, lots of sentimental, homemade decorations including an angry snowman at the top of the tree made by my 15 year old when he was in year 1!

I will endeavour to come and post pictures of the mugs when they are fired which will be in about a weeks time

Oh I’ve really been here. This year is 100% stuff I want to do and I am
loving it (everyone else is ungrateful as ever so why not!) Highly recommend Suzy Reading’s How To Be Selfish

Have a wonderful day @IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour !!

This is my first retired Christmas (so I have loads of time but no money!) and I am LOVING not having to arrange to cut everything short so I can go back to work! Still need to get my tree though everything else is up. Now the weather is showing signs of not being just grey dampness I find it much easier to get into the spirit of the thing!

I’ve organised al the kids presents and the food shop, organised the pottery shop and that’s about it! Husband will do all the cooking on the day though and wrap all the presents on Christmas Eve so I think we are pretty much equal .
