Can anyone suggest a good board game for my 2 daughters and me, they are aged 7 (nearly 8) and 11. One that can be played by just me and the 7 yr old if need be as the 11 year old isn’t really into games. We have all the usual things like Uno, Dobble, Taco-cat, exploding kittens, guess who, Ludo, Labyrinth, Junior monopoly, Junior Cluedo, Junior Life, operation, quirked, Outfixed and prob more I can’t think of. Anything new and good this year?
Thanks in advance!!

I've bought Sequence this year, on recommendation from a few people.

My brother got my 11 year old son Blokus for his Birthday, and we have all really enjoyed playing it. It can be played with 2-4 players.

Hive? I've also seen the ads for magnetic chess and quite fancy that as a quick table game

We love qwirkle , big money, bananagrams throw throw burrito is a hit with that age group.

Not new but with similar ages we like Ticket to Ride (the junior version is great), Sushi Go and Forbidden Island

Great suggestions, thank you! We got magnetic chess last year actually, enjoyed it at the time but think the last time we played with it was last Christmas. Also Quirkle has been gathering dust, must root that out again.

Othello is easy to play. Nab it is good for kids.

I've bought Qwirkle for my 23yo! (On their request). There is a good Qwirkle app too.

Dungeon mayhem was a massive hit with my DS10 and DD8.

Not a board game per se and I can’t personally recommend as haven’t actually played it yet - but I’ve got OH Ransom Notes for Xmas with the intention of being able to play it with the kids as well - it looks hilarious and like it’ll actually be fun for the grown ups too. Otherwise my lot got heaps of play out of Dragonimo, v straightforward but they loved it and still regularly play it together just with the two of them (and 3 when DSD is here too)

Dixit has been a recent success with my 7 and 9 year olds. Such a simple premise, but so enjoyable. There's also expansion packs so has longevity.

If they're into stories and storytelling, then Dixit is great.

Forbidden island is a good one because it's co-operative, so no bickering, and the artwork is beautiful.

We also liked this narrative game - it's long-form but divided into chapters. We used to do one chapter every night and then slide the board very carefully under the sofa for tomorrow. A good one for the holidays.

The Adventures of Robin Hood

Take on the role of Robin Hood in a cooperative game that changes while you play.

Ticket to ride was a massive hit the Christmas my dc were 11 and just 8. European edition.

I'd recommend Zombie Kidz for this age range. We've had it over a year and it still gets regularly played with. As you keep playing you get to open envelopes with new perks and rules so it's got lots of replayability.
