Small gifts for kids to give me

My dc want to get me gifts but they don’t have a lot of money (they are young teen boys)
I am torn between saying don’t worry I don’t need anything and offering little ideas for things they can get me.
a new mug and Succulent plants are the only things I can think of. Can anyone think of any ideas?

Chocolate Orange
Scented candle
Nice picture printed from their phone
Small bunch of flowers
Hand cream
Lip balm
Sweets

What lovely boys!

If you've got a good charity shop near you, something from there? Charity shops almost always have recipe books and scarves.

Board game you can play together? Or a date to a coffee shop (they pay!).

Iknowdino · 11/12/2025 13:48

New plants is always my go to! Or chocolate.
A nice pack of cards so you can learn some games together? Heritage do some lovely themed ones. We have dinosaurs and cats.
Do you like to read? Socks?

My teen boys tend to get me bath bombs, soap, candles, chocolate and specific books that I have asked for. I also wouldn't be averse to bulbs in a pot or nail varnish.

TryingAgainAgainAgain · 11/12/2025 13:54

Don't say not to worry. Accept their wish to give you a gift. It's a good thing.

What lovely boys. Are they buying together or individually? I’d like a covered hot water bottle, a Glocusent neck reading light for crocheting (honestly they’re brilliant), scented candles always lovely, and smelly gift sets are an old fashioned treat. How about a fancy phone cover, or new oven gloves, these are things I would love to have new but never get round to buying.

Thanks. These are great ideas, I will make a little list

How sweet of them. How old are they? I tell ds4 usually that I'd love a card (that he has drawn or written in) or a picture.

Sorry just saw they are teenagers.

My 15 year old has bought me the latest Richard osman. My 13 year old has bought me some silver earrings from fat face. Both under £15.

shellyleppard · 11/12/2025 15:51

Book token, plants (poinsettia), books or chocolates?? You are lucky having thoughtful children 💖

MonsterBookOfTyson · 11/12/2025 17:51

We have a £2 rule that the dc shouldnt spend more than, so the dc just normally get some sweets/chocolate. They dont have much mo ey and I want them to have fun money still for the christmas events we go to.

Mine pretty much always get me books or seeds. Sometimes my favourite chocolates.
DS18 has this year used his Christmas present from last year (whittling knife) for all our birthday presents so I think he may for Christmas too. My birthday present was a family of whittled hedgehogs and they are truly beautiful.

mamaduckbone · 11/12/2025 18:47

How about chocolate, a small scented candle, a jigsaw, lip balm, hand cream, socks, other good that you like, a book.

It's nice for them to start getting you a small present when they're old enough to realise that Christmas isn't all about them.

GeorgeTheFirst · 11/12/2025 19:02

Chocolate
A book you'd like from a charity shop
