My daughter's are impossible to buy for and MIL needs ideas for what to get them....something interesting and unique for around the £20 mark. She's bought their main presents apparently so this is the add on gift 🤣

Do they like baking/cooking? My DD14 has asked for cooking/baking things and Lakeland have lots of low priced things like ravioli cutters and cookie cutter shapes. Her and her friends are always baking at the moment but I don't know how wide a trend it is. She's getting things to make her own pasta as well as thing to top cupcakes with like special sprinkles and food colouring and things like that

Bose headphones (from her list)
laptop (need)
backpack (list)
skin care (list)
some other bits and bobs on on her stocking.

VenusClapTrap · 11/12/2025 20:52

Pyjamas
socks
pants
hoody
books
Christmas tree decoration
shampoo
an ingenious folding bedside lamp
a blacksmithing course

TheChosenTwo · 11/12/2025 21:41

I’ve just got my girls dock and bay hair towels for their stockings, I wasn’t looking for them but I spotted them in really pretty colours which I knew they’d love, I think they were £16-£18 each.

On the subject of teenage girls, can anyone recommend a good quality nail polish brand they like right now? Something that would be considered quite high end/a bit of a treat?

Great thread with some new ideas.
@Kickinthenostalgia I was considering an Apple Watch for dd 13 but remain a bit sceptical about the additional digital overload, more messages coming straight to the watch, more alerts, more distractions. What are the benefits of apple watch for your young teen?

@Radiator981 whats a netball montage? Is it a poster?

@ChocoChocoLatte is gymshark a trendy brand with teens? My dd mentioned it a few times, what items are you getting?

@Makingpeace is Ordinary gift set specifically for teenage skin? tia.

I'll add mine
Iets frans joggers and baby tee
White Fox baby tee
A few things from Hollister

1000 pc puzzle
books
Hair oil form Sephora
Summer Fridays lip balm
Adidas trainers

For under 20 quid, I recommend lip balm, puzzle if they're into it, book vouchers, Hollister or Boots voucher.

Tbh I was a bit skeptical too but she’s had 3 fit bits that have all broken within 6 months, she looked after them well, they just stopped charging etc, the straps kept breaking. I’ve had my Apple Watch for 7 years and it’s still going strong. You can’t do too much on it tbh, messages come through but she’s very aware that during school hours if she gets caught using to send messages it it’s her own fault and she deals with the consequences. Tbh she’s quite good, doesn’t like breaking rules. She’s only in year 8 so that could all change in a heartbeat.

Mangomammy · 12/12/2025 07:25

@ChocoChocoLatte
cases and clues murder mystery game looks good, I’ve ordered it for someone.

I'm stuck as to what to get my nearly 18 yo DD.

So far she has asked for a makeup bag, some lush stuff, and a makeup palette, but the pile looks small.

I'm wondering if there's something for uni I could buy her that could be useful, but what? She commutes so doesn't stay in flats.

Following with interest as looking to get gifts around this price for 2 nieces...11 and nearly 15.

Is Sol de Janeiro still popular? I'm so out of the loop😄My own child is only 3.

Does she have a good power bank? Compact mirror with a light?

twosandwiches · 12/12/2025 19:20

My daughters both got the Beautifect mirror two years ago - they LOVE it. Neither of them asked for it. It’s the one thing my elder daughter always brings home from university

ChocoChocoLatte · 13/12/2025 10:43

@Mangomammythann you!

Re Gymshark - I’ve no idea but it’s what they wear to the gym and I grabbed random bargains in their sale - am so out of touch these days, esp re gym wear lol

Cash/vouchers would always be preferred by my 2 rather than just buying stuff for the sake of it.
