What are you buying for husbands / partners?

I am so stuck.

My DH is so hard to buy for, and to make things worse his birthday is a couple of days after Christmas also so it’s double the amount of stuck.

He buys whatever he needs in terms of aftershave / clothes. He recently bought a new coat and trainers for a work trip and he has a hobby but his friends through that always get him stuff relating to it so it doesn’t really leave anything for me to buy in that respect.

He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t really read (so nothing like a kindle), between he and DC he has all the consoles and a game pass so can’t even buy a new game.

With streaming and all that, it feels like there’s nothing left to buy 😂

Historically I’ve got him things a weekend away but with two family weddings and a planned family trip already booked, he doesn’t have any annual leave left.

Does anyone have any amazing suggestions that were a hit with their difficult to buy for husbands?

Can you do upgrades to everyday things he uses but more luxury/ better spec?

Randomly I got my husband better pillows (he goes to the gym so often aches from weights etc so getting a comfy nights sleep he appreciates) and he LOVED them.

Make a hamper with treats, a monthly subscription to anything like coffee/ hot sauce or magazines, kitchen gadgets go down well for us too. He’s loved some niche sport stuff - like clothes from lesser known american college teams etc - Vinted is great for this.

We give eachother lists, get a few things off that and add a few ideas of our own

DH is getting a couple of pairs of fun socks, Lindt teddy bear, M&S G&T cans, book, jigsaw he asked for and a miniature wooden one, car air freshener and fun screen wipes.

bridgetreilly · 09/12/2025 11:34

Lego?

I second Lego.

My husband is a massive gamer and has a variety of Nintendo and Star Wars Lego which he loves because we all build it together as a family, and then he enjoys displaying.
This year I’ve bought him the ‘Wall E and Eve’ set because it is so damn cute (and is a bit like him and me!)

Board or card games are also great for combining playing and spending quality time together.

I’ve got him a Quentin Tarantino book ‘Cinema Speculation’
He likes coffee table books about lots of subjects, but particularly Computer games, Films and Graphic Novels.

A theragun (massage thing) and pyjama trousers

chunkyBoo · 09/12/2025 12:12

My husband rarely buys clothes so I’ve bought him jeans, cargo trousers, a jumper, running trainers, nice face moisturiser and some books

Florally · 09/12/2025 13:43

Thank you all - Lego is a great shout!!

I've bought mine a cheese subscription. We both have too much stuff so often choose consumables.

Giddykiddy · 09/12/2025 17:21

Tickets to a rugby game, tickets to a show, hankies, PJs and a new back pack

QueenofallIsee · 09/12/2025 17:23

Festival Tickets. Custom Adidas that are
signed by a member of his favourite band - the company is very reputable and does some amazing collabs if that is his sort of thing.

CointreauVersial · 09/12/2025 17:26

DH is getting some running earphones (the ones he has at the moment are cheap crappy ones that fall out all the time), a fancy travel coffee cup (lots of hours on the motorway, and he uses a crappy old promo mug), an F1 teeshirt, plus a few bits and pieces like books and chocolate.

Crispynoodle · 09/12/2025 19:29

2 pairs of Levi’s a Donegal tweed tie a new shirt and a case of red wine

MyLuckySloth · 09/12/2025 21:35

I bought mine music magazine subscription, a few Lego F1 speed champion (McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes), socks and some skincare products (so he will stop using mine!!)

TMMC1 · 09/12/2025 21:44

Not sure on your budget so suggesting Lego as you can select that for your price point.

My DP’s birthday is nearby too. This is what I’ve bought:

Ninja Thirsti travel cup
Tom Ford aftershave
North Face fleece
Wireless headset for work
Beers

Christmas

Spotify vouchers
Ugg slippers
Pyjamas
Wireless earbuds
Whiskey
Tickets to a comedy
Reeses tin

Then for his sack (as DC think the sacks come from Santa so we all get one, albeit the adult ones are very small):

Multi tool pen

Charging dock for his watch, phone and earbuds
Underpants
Chocolate coated Oreos

Is there anything better than good pillows, sheets or a dressing gown 🤣

Bones101 · 10/12/2025 01:11

I got DH tickets to Nick Mohammad and Dara O'Briain, the massive hogwarts lego 🤣 and socks with my face on them lol

Happilyobtuse · 10/12/2025 07:07

I have the same problem as you as our anniversary, his birthday and christmas are one after the other. This is what I’ve got. We don’t buy a lot of presents, just quality ones.

Anniversary - Armani Eau de Toilette and Armani hoodie

Birthday - iphone, paul smith gift set, lounge wear from next, shirt from super dry, Whisky advent calendar

Christmas - Bottle of whisky, Hermes gift set, Table top football.

CostelloJones · 10/12/2025 07:11

I said to DH this year “my mum is asking if there’s anything you’d like for Christmas - can I pass on any suggestions to her” and he gave me a few things he’d like. And to be fair I did pass on a suggestion to her but I also took first dibs from the things he said he’d like 🤣

so my mum is getting him some slippers and then I’ve got him a wallet as he said he could do with a new one. I also got him a painting that I know he’ll really like as we are moving house and he will have a bigger office in the new house.

OneCleverPinkFawn · 10/12/2025 09:13

An upgraded version of whatever he currently uses would be a good idea, so could be pretty much anything from the skincare to various tools.

Tickets to a show he would enjoy or something you'd attend together maybe? Any upcoming concerts or gigs he would be interested in?

If he's into tech, things like good headphones or a new gaming mouse or something like that could be nice options. Maybe a subscription to software he would find interesing, like a photo editing program or a music making app, or a video editing software, etc depending on his interests.

Things like a fancy wallet if he uses those, or a high-quality belt or a pair of nice gloves.

A big box of his favorite snacks.
