What non alcoholic drinks do you serve?

No one coming for Christmas day drinks alcohol.

I have bought fancy looking soft drinks in the past but they often don't get drank. People end up drinking squash! (By choice I will say) Last year I was drinking sparkling lemon water with dinner then Dr Pepper for the rest of the day.

What do you serve? I'm thinking sparkling water, 7 up, and squash. Then of course tea/ coffee

Maybe something like a non alcoholic mulled wine for when they arrive?

Nozecco if you want a sense of occasion without alcohol. I find a lot of soft drinks too sweet so I’m interested to see what others serve.

cambiodenombre123 · 08/12/2025 14:00

Ditto everyone else but ginger ale is a good christmassy shout. Or warm spiced apple juice? Makes the house smells lovely to boot? Or simply make some fancy ice with cranberries and orange in to add to glasses of tap water... I'll be doing the same this year so following this with interest...

Upthenorth · 08/12/2025 14:02

Nuisance do a lovely range of soft drinks.

Mionetti alcohol free prosecco is the closest to real taste I have come across if people like the taste but don’t drink.

fourquenelles · 08/12/2025 14:07

Non alcoholic mulled wine or mulled blackcurrant squash. Second Schloer for some cold fizz.

turkeyboots · 08/12/2025 14:09

Schloer here too. Especially if you can get the champagne style corked bottles for fanciness.

sammyspoon · 08/12/2025 14:12

Robinsons lime and mint cordial with sparkling water

BillieWiper · 08/12/2025 14:13

Water
Tea
Instant coffee
Might push to a multi pack of coke cans if feeling rock n roll. 🤣

FancyCatSlave · 08/12/2025 14:18

We are drinkers but always have a few driving so have:

Coke and Coke Zero
Limonata
Lime & Soda
Still and Sparking mineral waters
Cranberry & soda
J20
Alcohol free lager

That caters for our lot.

Ginger beer and kombucha are both great AF options. OJ and tonic water is nice

Have you tried Mother Root? I am patiently waiting for an offer (that isn’t a swizzy one on a package with fever tree etc..). Looks nice but £28 a bottle is hard to stomach.

Yes. I love the original. I don't like the special editions eg Marmalade.
The original is different, not sweet, has a kick and a genuine feel good factor. I drink it with soda or hot with boiling water. Love it.
I do agree it feels expensive and I do admit that I also make my own DIY version but it's never as good!

Interesting. I was wondering about getting a ginger bug and making my own but sounds like probably not worth it. And I know what you mean about avoiding too sweet a drink.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 08/12/2025 15:13

Apple juice, sparkling elderflower, cranberry juice, non alcoholic beer, non alcoholic gin and tonic and by far the most popular Sainsbury's own non alcoholic sparkling wine.- the £3.50 a bottle one. It's dry so not like prosecco and really good for that price.

BitOfAWeirdo · 08/12/2025 15:13

Appletize
Sparkling water
Coke
Soda water

pontipinemum · 08/12/2025 17:07

Thanks everyone!!

I can and will ask them, it's my ILs I see them a few times a week. They aren't fussy. I was just looking for ideas for something a bit more interesting.

The mulled wine was just an idea - something warm on arrival would be nice. I like the idea of the apple one. I mentioned it to DH, he suggested I ask SIL to make something and bring it.

I won't bother with N/A wine I don't like it and don't think anyone else is pushed. I do like some NA beers but usually when I am out or at a BBQ.

Appletizer sounds like a good one, I haven't had that in years and love it.

I like that san pellegrino too so will get some.

Most of them drink very small volumes of liquid through out the day, where as I am always thirsty (not diabetic) so really I should just buy for me.

And yes ginger ale, DH really likes that so I must get some. Last time I got a supermarket own brand and he didn't like it so I'll 'spring' for the real stuff since it's Christmas 😂

Belvoir farm does some nice sparkling soft drinks - you can get it in Tesco

Parsleysalad · 08/12/2025 17:18

Trip, any of the mindfulness blends

DilkushaKitchen · 08/12/2025 17:22

We have done Schloer, elderflower fizz, Sicilian lemonade, St Clements.

The Bottlegreen Spiced Berry Cordial is really lovely with just-boiled water as a non-alcoholic mulled wine alternative

Schloer ! Only buy at Christmas and it’s nice to have something in a wine glass when others are drinking

Coke in glass bottles and orangina are both Christmas only offerings too and I’ve always got squash , Tripp drinks and M&S (no sweetners) lemonade in to mix with fruit juices

Where do you normally buy your Orangina? I’m especially looking for the version that has real sugar and not artificial sweeteners in it.

AgnesX · 08/12/2025 17:55

White lemonade, Tango, sparkling water. Nothing that special really but in the "good" glasses!

PS and I forgot the Schloer that noone actually drinks!

Obeseandashamed · 08/12/2025 17:58

I usually make some type of mocktail or punch along with the usual soft drink offerings. Lemonade with apple juice or a dash of ginger beer and mint goes down a treat. Lemons and limes sliced and left to stew when the ice is added to the jug/keg.

@pontipinemum splurge on Fentiman’s ginger beer. The 750mL bottle is actually on sale at Tesco for £2.00 right now. I have a couple bottles in Christmas delivery cart.

Oh yes Fentiman’s! I retract my previous answer, this is the correct one. Fentiman’s rose lemonade and dandelion and burdock as well as the ginger beer.

Appetiser 🙃
