I thought would start a new thread for this because I want to ask a question but am also a book lover myself and have readers to buy for.

My question is, what would be a good book gift for a 13 year old girl (from my same age son). It's Secret Santa and he doesn't know her that well. My instinct is a beautiful cloth bound penguin classic like Cold Comfort Farm but I am old and out of touch.

Gift ideas for others. Lot of talk of book nooks on bargain thread. I made the one below from TEMU and loved it.

Also Yoshi do a beautiful range of book worm purses and bags in all different genres.

I also have used book subscriptions. Willoughby book club was good but pricey, I would say their hit rate was 8 out of 12 books. A few became favourites. The other one I used for my mum was Gently Used. I think it was three secondhand books for £15 a month.

Imagine if your job was scouring charity shops for books and then picking them for people. The dream!

Please share your ideas for books and related gifts.

I wouldn't get a thirteen year old a Penguin Classic! How dull.
I'd get her something that's been big on BookTok like Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow or We Were Liars or They Both Die At The End or The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy (or however many there are now...).

Yes you are probably right, I like to think at that age I would have appreciated a beautifully bound classic but actually I was working my through all my mum's Jilly Coopers.
