Has anyone had any nice liquorice allsorts based gifts from anywhere?

I don't really want a gift box from Etsy - could be made up by someone with not the best personal hygiene & I could do that myself if I could be arsed.

& I'm not sure my recipient would appreciate a mug or Bertie Bassett or something lurking about after Christmas.

Any other ideas I'm missing before I look for something else? (I have no idea what yet!)

not sure of your budget but one of the big shop jars? You can also get necklaces/earrings with glass allsort beads but that may come under the hanging around/won't like it category?

lucysmam · 26/11/2025 20:36

I did half look at some jewellery - I've never seen my recipient wear anything along those lines though so not sure they'd be worn. I'll have another think; just wondered if there was anything I'd missed.

Thanks @AuntieDen !

Depending on your budget, the Sorted Food team over on YouTube gave this posh liquorice advent calendar an absolute rave review today, so if your recipient likes the fancy stuff, might be an idea?

I get that for my dads partner every year, she raves about it too.

What about this? www.ocado.com/products/m-s-liquorice-allsort-jar/650604011

DH gets a box (or three; usually ends up with multiples from various family members) for Christmas every year. Honestly, I can't think of an Allsorts themed gift he'd enjoy more than an actual box of the stuff though. A big jar as suggested by a PP is a good shout!

You could possibly wrap / arrange other nice things into Allsort-type shapes? Rolled up pair of black socks with a pink pair wrapped around them (or black gloves/pink scarf....)? Stack of three books wrapped in white/black/brown paper...

I have seen some nice boxes in our local farm shop, I am sure most farm shops sell them. They are more expensive but make a nice gift. My DF is a liquorice all sorts fan.

Looking at the prices on those links... Catch a fight to Amsterdam and do a supermarket raid.

Lakeland sell RJ's soft liquorice which my friend loves! I always get her a bag when I pass as she doesn't live near a branch.
I think they do gift boxes of assorted bags for around £15

Also Amazon sell cheap and cheerful liquorice allsorts jewellery.
£5-£20 Lots of fun!

I have bought one too! Already opened it 😂 two bags of licorice allsorts in there if that’s any help to the OP!

I hate Haribo usually but in Spain they sold delicious Haribo liquorice sweets. Sadly they don’t sell them in the UK or Ireland.
They are called Haribo Zanzigliss.
Obviously too cheap for a Christmas present 😀

GellerYeller · 28/11/2025 23:18

If you have a branch of Sostrene Green nearby, they have lots of liqorice options: giant sticks of soft liqorice, fruit allsorts, salted, liqorice flavour boiled sweets… You could make your own hamper. The Lakeland ones are also good.

Thank you all, I've not really been on MN for the last couple of days. I might see if dd1 will nip to M&S for me on her break, on Monday, for one of the jars. I quite like that.

@deeahgwitch I'm off to look it up...

The RJ brand are the best in our opinion. Always stock up when we see them. Taste less artificial than the original.

deeahgwitch · 29/11/2025 10:16

Oh I do like Haribo Color Rado from Liquorice Heaven @AutisticAndMorebut I don’t live in the UK so the cost would be astronomical. ☹️
