Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

@GiddyDog thanks for the Wonderbly heads up - I also had credit so between that, the Black Friday code and a code from the referral thread, I managed to get my godson a lovely personalised dinosaur book for only £5 postage!
I’ve also put my referral code on the thread of anyone wants it

Amazing bargain! I’ve done the same and used your referral code! Enjoy the £15 credit next time! Thank you so much!

Thanks for these, teen DNs have requested vouchers 🙄 so these will be a lovely little bonus to make vouchers a little more exciting!

Floral street has 25% off everything on their site. I’ve had one of their perfumes and it’s lovely. The scent lasts ages. The discovery sets look good
free postage over £25 but £5 postage if under. I was going to get myself and discovery set but it’s down to £22.50 & I can’t bring myself to pay postage!

JL sell Floral St and should hopefully be price matching. Only really helpful you have other bits to take you over the minimum spend (I'd have no trouble spending £30 or £40 though)

Hello

I'm hoping someone can help me with an idea.
One of my team members is a wheelchair user, he has MS. I would like to get everyone in the team a Christmas present. I usually spend around £10 per person but have gone up to £20 if something felt right. I usually get candles, hand creams or snacks or similar things and don't necessarily get everyone the same thing. This team member doesn't snack as he wants to control his weight to stay mobile and I'm not sure he'd appreciate cosmetics. He's recently joined my team so I don't know him very well yet. Do you have any ideas what I could get him?

My brother has just had a mini pub built in his back garden 😂

Anyone got any inspired ideas for what i can get him for Christmas? I think he's all set for the actual drinks and glassware, and my mum is buying personalised beer mat/coasters and a wall mounted bottle opener.

Other than that - any suggestions welcome. I usually spend £30-40.

We have one of these inside. One good gift last year was a pub sign ‘The xx Arms’ that I ordered off Amazon or Etsy and it looks really good. We have neon signs, beer mats, funny moustache beer mats, coasters, beer towels, optics etc. Cocktail making set maybe? Decent glasses and beer glasses - personalised ones.
enjoy!

Sainsburys 1 litre bottle Baileys £10

hby9628 · 29/11/2025 14:21

Thanks everyone for the floral street advice. I’ve got it to collect from my local m&s
great deal.

vroc81 · 29/11/2025 14:35

Not necessarily a bargain but Forbidden planet have the K-pop Funko pops in stock for those that are concerned about them arriving before Christmas.

this was the Leicester store but presume others will have too.

Argh Chucking Cheese 5.99 delivery to northern Ireland no matter how much you spend. I am sitting with basket if £50 and 10% off almost cancels it out but it's the principle dammit.

hby9628 · 29/11/2025 14:48

The popcorn bundle looks great thank you. I’ve ordered it & im not even sure who for 🤣

IlovePond · 29/11/2025 15:00

@bendybusbuggy1 how about:

  • powerbank
  • earphones cleaning kit - you would have to add something else to this as they are cheap
  • handwarmers/gloves
  • Xmas socks
  • desk calendar/memo pad/diary/desk tidy
  • reflective beanie - some have built in torches

This is fab… now I’m just being cheeky but can anyone find a way to get rid of the postage? I can’t buy 3 giant bundles to avoid postage 🫣

I ended up sucking it up. The 20% equated to most of the postage, and it was a good deal anyway!

Poonu · 29/11/2025 15:01

Any hardback books for bedtime for a three to five-year-old?

CalliopePlantain · 29/11/2025 15:01

Also ordered the popcorn bundles for 2 nephews and the school office. Thank you to the poster, I’d never have even thought of something like this!

evtheria · 29/11/2025 15:05

While TK Maxx has free click & collect on (until 1st Dec) these Christmas-themed Tonies could be good for some:

The Chuckling Cheese factory is basically at the end of my road and is also Dough Girl headquarters. Almost daily there are too good to go bags available. Eight truckles of Cheese n one bag and four cookie pie slices in the other at £4 each. It's really hard to be on a diet 🤷🏽‍♀️

IlovePond · 29/11/2025 15:19

I have just logged into ELF and they were offering me 30% off everything. Don’t know if they are giving everyone the same deal. There’s also a free gift if spending over £25.

bendybusbuggy1 · 29/11/2025 15:29

@IlovePond , those are all great suggestions, thank you! Just remembered the sock shop crackers, I'll see if those are still available.

I’m genuinely wondering whether it’s better to get the one I want and suck up the postage or buy three 😅😅

The story orchestra ones are lovely and there's usually one of the series on offer at Amazon

BloodyBoilingInHere · 29/11/2025 16:06

Thanks for all the pub ideas - lots I hadn't considered. Think he will love the cardboard strip of bar snacks so I'll go for that and the bell, I think. Thanks ☺️
