Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Apologies not quite the correct thread to ask this I don’t think..

Looking to do a big shop for store cupboard bits and non fresh items from Sainsburys.
Does anyone know of any first time shopper discount codes please? 😁 thank you x

FurForksSake · 29/11/2025 12:07

@crumpetwithcheese if you could do Tesco instead you could do the Clubcard plus, you get 10% off two in store shops. It’s £7.99 a month but free for the first month and cancel any time.

FamilyStrifeIsHard2Bear · 29/11/2025 12:10

I am so enjoying following these threads, thank you to everyone for all the brilliant money saving suggestions!

If anyone’s looking for Christmas food storage, especially for those of us who pack too much in to the freezer and then plastic boxes fall out and break on the floor :/
I love these silicone bags, UK designed, great quality and cheaper than the exorbitantly expensive American ones.

Floral street has 25% off everything on their site. I’ve had one of their perfumes and it’s lovely. The scent lasts ages. The discovery sets look good
free postage over £25 but £5 postage if under. I was going to get myself and discovery set but it’s down to £22.50 & I can’t bring myself to pay postage!

Theres a Floral Street discovery set on M&S for the same price - 25% off all beauty. You could order into store for free collection if you’ve got one local to you.

Vast quantities of popcorn

From Joe and Sephs with the code Black Friday. Including 60 x 7g packets if that's your thing!

The 20% off code BLACKFRIDAY works on those too. Just bought the Cyber Monday bundle for DH, so thanks for flagging!

I did post a new thread, but this is always the most helpful corner of MN… My 4yo (nearly 5) loves to climb and thinks he’s Spider-Man. We’ve been wondering about getting him a Swedish climbing wall… can anyone recommend a brand or even an alternative type of gym equipment that he can use? we don’t have tons of space and already have a pickler which he’s outgrown a bit.
Advice gratefully received!

@crumpetwithcheese - if you fancy Asda instead, they are giving £10 off a £50+ shop with code: ASDA10OFF

AFFVCUK11S

or this for £10 off a £90 shop
AFFNDM10S

My brother has just had a mini pub built in his back garden 😂

Anyone got any inspired ideas for what i can get him for Christmas? I think he's all set for the actual drinks and glassware, and my mum is buying personalised beer mat/coasters and a wall mounted bottle opener.

Other than that - any suggestions welcome. I usually spend £30-40.

Would a Gorilla Gym work? It's a bar that goes across your doorways which you can attach climbing ladders and ropes to (as well as swings or those hanging handle things).

How about some of those pub snacks that come on big bits of card. I always get DH some Scampi Fries for Xmas. They have them on Amazon.

Perhaps a hangover kit?

I'm getting my DH a Guinness Nitrosurge machine this year - the machine itself is about £20 but you need the specialist cans to go with it so that could easily bump the total to £30/40ish. Assuming your brother like Guinness of course!

Chukling Cheese charging me £4.99 for delivery. Can anyone help with how to get the 10% code mentioned which will make it a little less of a hit. Thanks

This is fab… now I’m just being cheeky but can anyone find a way to get rid of the postage? I can’t buy 3 giant bundles to avoid postage 🫣

How about a neon sign for behind the bar? There are loads of cool retro ones on Etsy and they're surprisingly reasonable.

Hereslookinatyoukid · 29/11/2025 13:45

Has anyone seen any photo Christmas cards with a really good deal, I vaguely remember there being an amazing deal the last few years…! It’s 50% off at Photobox but to be honest the prices look massively inflated!
