Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Thanks everyone for your suggestions for the unknown Secret Santa 15 year old, much appreciated

MamaRoly · 28/11/2025 15:17

Struggling for ideas for DS13 who doesn't want anything and has a December birthday as well 🙄 One random idea, is there some sort of tracker that I can fit to our cat as I think DS may find this amusing to see how far he roams at night. I don't know if this would be visible/download able to a laptop? We all have Life360 but I can't imagine the cat tolerating a huge tile on his collar!

I know! Haven't seen any good deals today actually.

@welcometotheblackparadee AirFly Bluetooth transmitter is amazing on long haul flights. No more getting tangled up in headphone cords. I've been using them for years and I recommend them to everyone - https://amzn.eu/d/1XqVpk6

I've just had a reply from Fahlo saying my order placed on 25/11 is 'aiming' to ship within 7 business days from now. Just a warning as if it is coming from the US I doubt it will arrive in time with shipping taking so long. I've asked them to cancel.

BarryKentPoet · 28/11/2025 15:31

Some really cheap Loungefly bags on Geek Core today - I am tempted by the Snow White one for myself!

I bought them a few years ago and I'm sure they didn't ship from the US

GiddyDog · 28/11/2025 15:46

@BarryKentPoet (amazing username!) hopefully not, just going by a previous poster who suggested the delay was due to them being US based and Thanksgiving. Either way that would be 10 working days from order to shipping which seems excessive.

They were slow to post (I just checked my emails) but they arrived well before Christmas, so hopefully all will be ok!

MerylSqueak · 28/11/2025 15:57

@Ness1234 in addition, what about a Gregg's voucher. My kids like them and they're around that age

Twinings Advent Calendar down from £13 to £5.99 on Amazon

Amazon link here

Thank you! I usually buy myself a tea advent calendar each year and hadn’t this year so couldn’t resist this.

As long as it's here for Christmas, I don't mind if dispatch is slow. I appreciate I only bought one as a stocking filler though.
The only slight downside is adding it to my mental list of presents I'm still waiting for

I saw a reel yesterday that said my bf shopping is out of control. If Amazon deliver a live goat tomorrow I won't be surprised. That's how I feel rn 🤦🏻‍♀️

Roseshavethorns · 28/11/2025 16:25

I may be late to the party but have just found out that you can use your clubcard vouchers towards bookings on hotels.com (you get 2x the value).
It could be useful if you are planning on booking a trip for Christmas.

Does anyone know any good places that sell Christmassy flavoured nuts, chocolate nuts and nibbles?

Anyone seen any advent calendar bargains? For me, an adult! I'm in hospital long term so wasn't gonna bother but if there's a bargain....

A secret Santa and it’s a charity request for a 15 year old male who just wants warm clothing.

Could anyone give advice on what else a 15 year might like, extra to the clothing without knowing anything about him. Thanks

I would suggest white Nike socks, skincare set like stars and spots (sorry no idea of budget so that may be out of price range) x

Thank you so much @Stowickthevast @Arregaithel @ihavespoken @Dormouse1940 there are dome great options there! I’m working my way through them.

If it’s not too late, Neil Gaiman did a brilliant book retelling the Nordic myths. I appreciate that he’s got a lot to answer for (ffor good reasons) but his writing is amazing.

slimmyjimmy · 28/11/2025 17:31

@Twonka thanks so much for the link to the power bank, nice little gift

Mine arrived today and I'm really impressed. Would buy again. I've opened each box, set aside half the socks to bulk out presents and kept the other half. My DH will use the empty box for my DIY beauty advent calendar.
If they go in the Jan sales I'll buy at least one more for next year.

Sorry to be a pain can Ia sk which this is?
