Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

@TheBigFish they are map hanging bars. They slide along the top and bottom edges of the map. Available in all sizes and come in plastic, metal or wood - like this
We used them for posters

Thank you for this. I’ve got this one but trying to get the collection when they’re on offer. Just ordered the nature one that is down to £8. Such beautiful books

They really are! And I only know of them thanks to this thread. Have just added a few others to my watchlist so I can collect them. 😊

hby9628 · 27/11/2025 12:07

@Arregaithelthey look epic!

@RainbowZebraWarriorthanks I’ll look at those too
im excited to have toastie warm feet for Xmas

fishfingersandchipsagain · 27/11/2025 12:25

My Levi’s jeans and tshirt (both for me) arrived and I’m delighted. I can’t remember who first posted the offer, but thank you. I used the £5 and £10 vouchers with the 10% off and TCB and split across 2 orders, so spent under £40.

I’ve never had a pair of Levi’s jeans. I remember trying them on several times as a teenager and the shapes just didn’t work for me. Now they are perfect! Who would have thought their demographic was not skinny bean-pole teen, but actually dumpy post-menopausal woman 😂

fishfingersandchipsagain · 27/11/2025 12:30

I have a request for recommendations please. DB has asked for a book or books on mythology - for adults rather than kids, but for interest rather than academic.

Ideally Celtic, Egyptian or Aztec!

A couple of stocking fillers on Amazon -

cute unicorn sleep masks pack of 4 for 4.73 for prime members

And mini squishmallows 12 for 12.29

Perfect for splitting between kids or as mini presents for friends

The mini Squishmallows are a 10-pack, not 12. Still a good deal though!

Stephen Fry?

There’s a DK range of books that cover all sorts of subjects, mythology is one?

Tempted by these.. Do you know if they are really thick socks? I want some which are warm but not too thick so they can be worn with shoes. Thanks.

They do very thick wool ones but also slightly thinner merino wool ones too

Mummymumbruh · 27/11/2025 13:08

My TCB for Levi was declined, anyone else? I didn't add a code, I only added the £5 and then it took 10% off automatically.

Mine was too, I just used the £10 birthday one.

Mrssalvatore123 · 27/11/2025 13:52

Thank you to whoever kindly suggest a serum for my sis! I’ve ordered. Also order the 67 hoodies from Amazon. Wonder if they will come?

IlovePond · 27/11/2025 13:58

@Mrssalvatore123 - second vote here for Prai neck cream. I really like it.

I also like Clarins but it’s pricy, (I am currently using up a free sample of it!)

I really dislike M&S Formula neck cream, (pink bottle). I normally like Formula products but this has an awful smell and is very liquidy. I am using it up but wouldn’t repurchase.

zacsGranny · 27/11/2025 14:23

Have people received their bracelets from Fahlo?
More than 48 hours and mine haven't been dispatched yet. Guess I'm just used to fast shipping.

Delahot · 27/11/2025 14:26

Just a heads up if anyone else ordered Laithwaite Hampers from earlier in the thread. Just had an email saying not available, no alternatives, refunded. Great.

welcometotheblackparadee · 27/11/2025 14:29

What are people getting for the 18 year old males in their lives? One of my brothers turns 18 at the beginning of December and neither myself or parents can think of what to get him.

There's nothing he "needs", doesn't drink, isn't interested in experiences, has all the tech etc.. Any and all ideas gratefully received, especially if bargainous.

I've bought my 19yo DS basketball shoes, a Harvester giftcard (he lives away from home) and Boot Bananas for said trainers. Otherwise it's toiletries and chocolate/sweets.
Bit rubbish especially compared to his 7yo sister.
I need some inspo too tbh

Arregaithel · 27/11/2025 14:45

Sorry everyone, I'm looking for an Argos discount code for a £180 spend, can anyone help please?

Huge thanks in advance 🌻

IlovePond · 27/11/2025 14:45

@welcometotheblackparadee

For a small present, how about a powerbank? I got one from Anker as a present for DH last year and have just ordered another one for younger DS. They are fantastic products - recommended on here last year:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-High-Speed-Portable-Charger-Charging/dp/B0CZ9M6X8Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?

Or for the gym: Cooling towels/wet kit bag, etc.

Or at home: Gaming cushion

Oodie - currently reduced at The Oodie

Bigger presents:

Gym membership
Driving lessons, (or if he can already drive - a course of the PassPlus driving lessons)
Gaming chair
