Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

This animal anthology book is now 50% off. I've been watching a while and it's the lowest I've seen it go to. Purchased the space one via bargain recommendation on this thread and they are beautiful books.

Animals

Thank you 🙏🏻 just ordered this and two others in the series (down to £8 from £20) for some nephews who will love them.

Flummoxedpebble · 27/11/2025 09:02

I love Nordic Socks! Can’t see the 50% off on their site though. Is there a code I need to use please?

Thank you for this. I’ve got this one but trying to get the collection when they’re on offer. Just ordered the nature one that is down to £8. Such beautiful books

Can't personally recommend it but Lidl have one in their christmas catalogue available in store from the 11th dec. I think they've had them before so someone might be able to give feedback if it's the same one

They had a one in Flying Tiger but it is probably too small would only hold individual sweets. I'm been looking too as the one we've had for about 15 years has died and we have our annual party coming up ( it was a staple at all family events and friends have been asking about it.)

MuggyBonehead · 27/11/2025 09:48

Stelmosfire1 · 26/11/2025 23:06

Is there a code for this please? I can only see a £5 reduction on the website 🤔

I don't think there's a code but a previous post linked to a half price sale section

Also waiting for a Funk order from weeks ago to be dispatched. Contacted them on Monday and only has the standard automated reply. I ordered directly from them last year without any problems though.

watchuswreckthemic · 27/11/2025 09:55

@VeruccaSaltythank you so much- you’ve just helped me finish shopping for my youngest. I’m just struggling to decide which one out of the 4!

Toooldforlonghair · 27/11/2025 09:57

Not a bargain post but do others think, like me that these threads constitute the nicest corner of Mumsnet? This is my first year using them and they are great. I have found lots of inspiration and no nastiness. I find the continuous stream of other threads moaning about Christmas 'tat', no gifts between adults, and general hating this, that and the other depressing.

Thank you to the ladies who started these gift theads and keep on putting up new ones as they fill and wish you all the Christmas you wish for yourselves.

Yes!! I think this is my eighth year here under different names and I just feel so warm and cosy on these threads. The prequels run all year but aren’t as active and I genuinely the busy threads!

toooldforbrat · 27/11/2025 10:05

ref the Nordic Socks - my DS is a size 9 . are the large 6-9 or the XL 10-12 best?

Is there shrinkage or stretch?

woodwaj · 27/11/2025 10:05

hugsandpugs · 27/11/2025 10:16

Can’t fault the customer service at sock shop! Contacted them yesterday morning to say that my advent calendar was missing from my order - they sent it straight away and it’s arrived this morning ❤️ it’s absolutely beautiful too for anyone else who’s considering it 🎄

Yes! I gave up on general mn chat years ago but I always come back around the end of September just to follow these threads. It's so rare to find any negativity on them, and I've got loads of advice, ideas and bargains from them over the past decade.

Thank you to @reastie for a fantastic Christmas tradition and the continued opportunity to annoy DH with the phrase "someone on Mumsnet said". Hope you're feeling better soon. Thank you also to the ones who help Reastie out with the threads.
