Board game for families - recommendations please

Looking for a family board game for teens and adults. They like easy games like Monopoly that’s aren’t too taxing but are still fun. All new games seem to have soo many rules, could be a game that lasts an hour or so. Enjoy ticket to ride but thats harder for elderly relatives to play as requires too much strategy. Any recommendation?

We like Pandemic. It is a step up in complexity from Ticket to Ride, but it's also co-operative. So if you have elderly relatives or other people who aren't familiar with the rules playing, you can talk through their options with them and jointly decide on a course of action for their turn. Then you can talk through what you're doing in your turn. It's a good atmosphere because you're all working together (unless you have someone really bossy in your family who would take over).

We like Carcassone, played it with a group age 8-80. Sounds fishy, Ka Blab, Karuba (4 player) and outsmarted are favourites in our house.

Carcassonne is very simple. Azul too. For posting with older relatives something like Quirkle could work well, it is a very simple tile laying game. Or 6 nimmt which is card placement and very, very simple. None of those has too many rules or complex point scoring.

Thanks for suggestions. We have tried pandemic but too many rules and a bit dull. Same with Carcassone . Prefer not to be a cooperative game

I second Azul. It takes a few minutes to learn and each game is generally under 30 minutes. And it's really enjoyable.
