Please could you help with some frugal/ free/ cheap Xmas activities with 1 7 year old and 1 teenager?

We look for thr xmas lights in the car every year. I'm going to make paper chains.

Please help as money is tight!
Thank you x

Rather than drive, wrap up warm, take a mug of hot chocolate and walk around the neighborhood looking for lights. Christmas movie when you get back.

Yes, we try and find a dry, cold evening for a wintery walk round the local area to admire the best streets /houses.
DS has added to this tradition and insists on wearing shorts!

Assembling a Lidl gingerbread house is one of our traditional activities. Strangely, we seem to have got worse rather than better at it over the years 😆. Not free, but £6-8.

Christmas lights switch ons, they usually have entertainment too- carol singing, meet Father Christmas for free sometimes.

Do you have a free What's On magazine for kids in your area? We do, and that's ideal for finding free stuff.

Churches are usually great for this sort of thing - carol services, Christmas tree decorating, festive craft activities, etc. I found this, and there will be loads going on in other dioceses.

Oh I have one! I have some plain shrink plastic, been tracing their favourite characters/generic Xmas things in sharpie, letting the kids loose with colouring pencils, and voila, their own custom Xmas tree decorations! They love them!!
