RainbowZebraWarrior · 21/11/2025 10:39

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

Does anyone have wowcher or livingsocial?

I keep getting emails saying I have £50 Black Friday credit but cannot figure out how to use it!

@RJnomore1 so if you click in the Wowcher email, it will add the £50 credit on. Then add something to your basket. When you go to checkout, scroll right down to the bottom to Order Summary and it will tell you how much of the £50 credit you can use against that item.
Eg. I added something that was £24 and it let me use £2.40 of my credit against it. Hth.

Does anyone know the best place to buy Ugg boots please or great discounts? Thank you!

I can send you a 20% off code?

Jellycat reindeer now out of stock on anthropology. Any other none discounted items assist from the jellycats?

The Barbour range is full price. They have a £20 dog toy and some £40 scarfs that look nice

VeruccaSalty · 22/11/2025 09:40

I made my first book nook! It was the Owl Bookshop and I got it from Temu for about £15. I kept in my basket until got offered a discount on it. We loved making it, all the kids want one now

Nottodaythankyouverymuch · 22/11/2025 09:45

Yes please @MaybeMrs that is amazing. Thank you so much

OnionBag · 22/11/2025 09:50

Has anyone tried one of these Mystery Guides? It popped up on my Facebook feed and looks good, but is it? They’re £20.
I am desperately scrabbling in the dark to buy something for my son & daughter-in-law and am wondering about one of these!

We did the Plymouth one with friends earlier this year and enjoyed it enough to want to have a go at another one in the new year!

Straysocks · 21/11/2025 18:58

Would appreciate recommendations for Raspberry Pi items. I am calling them items because I don't know what they are! I have a very techy teen who has not long discovered this. The sort of teen who needs a soldering extractor fan. An Idiots Guide To ... would be much appreciated.

@Straysocks

I have the same teen here!

If she’s already needing a soldering extractor fan then I’m guessing she’s already past the “basic kit” stage. If not then PiHut have some great options like these …

basic starter stuff:
advent calendar
Pi pico starter kit

if she’s just getting into soldering the components rather than breadboard:
a GOOD soldering iron (there are a lot of crappy cheap ones)
learn to solder kit
heat proof mat
extractor fan

if she’s already got the basics, then:
helping hands
solder sucker
brass sponge (tip cleaner)
desktop magnifier
some fun project kits
radio
led cube
game

if she’s more advanced:
various components … mine has asked specifically for op-amps, latching switches, and strip boards

NB for the component bundles and project kits I get them from Temu, although I have linked to Amazon above.

Maker Advent Calendar - The 12 Projects of Codemas (inc. Raspberry Pi Pico H)

The 12 Projects of Codemas Maker Advent Calendar is the ultimate festive treat for makers of all experience levels, guiding you step-by-step through 12 exciting days of fun projects including new components to play with every day!

First post after many years of lurking and loving these threads! Found some great reductions on Peloton clothing this morning - I think it's only for members though.
If you log in to the Peloton UK Apparel website you'll see 50% off Black Friday deals. There's 50% off things that are already heavily reduced and then I got a further 15% off because I'm at the gold level in Club Peloton (something you can join and get points for every time you do a work out). So I got two tops that were originally 74 and 46 quid for a total of £30.50 delivered!

I’m looking for band posters for dd. I got one from a local music shop for £5.99 which was about the price I had in mind. Unfortunately they only had one of her favourite bands. Online I seem to be only able to either get a3 which seems quite small or ££££ for larger.

The bands she is into are Muse, Royal Blood, My Chemical Romance and Foo Fighters.

Any suggestions would be great!

Etsy is good for things like this. Not sure of the prices but its worth a look. I have sometimes had 2 for 1 deals but can't find them on my order history

RainySundayAfternoon · 22/11/2025 10:18

Looking for an 18 inch sterling silver chain - anyone found a bargain recently? 🙏

RobinRedBird · 22/11/2025 10:18

I think I remember this wine being popular on here in the past. Apply voucher for 6 bottles to be just under £30. It's the McGuigan stuff.
It might also be less if you subscribe.

Has anyone seen any bargain for fishing chairs? It's not for fishing, but the adjustable legs are what I'm really looking for for an older relative that I think would find it useful for when they are out.

I'm looking for a gadget idea for DH please. I gave him the endoscope last year, that was recommended on these threads, and that was a big hit.
If it helps for more targeted ideas, he's a keen cyclist; does his own bike maintenance and enjoys DIY.

Solmum1964 · 22/11/2025 10:33

@Notlongnow1 Thank you for the recommendation of To The Woman. I've ordered it as a stocking filler for DMIL. Managed to get it for £5.37. It was showing as £5.48 but with the option of another 2% discount for a no rush delivery (available at checkout). That only saved 11p on this order but may make a difference for other people.

Absolutemess · 22/11/2025 10:34

CatRash · 22/11/2025 08:36

Bargain isn't it! I ordered when I first spotted it the day before (with the red toothbrush) and had an email saying it'll be delivered tomorrow. I'll update what mystery flavours I get as ordered two.

I thought both the toothbrushes and toothpastes would make great stocking fillers! Hoping I get some flavours then kids will like, they always spot them in Tesco but they're so expensive I always so no 😅

Will try and update with the answer to the riddle each night but happy for others to do so too!

Thank you so much, I got one for myself, and have just mentioned it to my husband and he apparently needs a new toothbrush, so I'll be on again tonight to try and one.

Thank you for all the amazing deals over the years, love following this thread and sharing in the Christmas spirit!

Not 100% sure on links (hope this works). For any Unicorn Academy fans, the light up Wild Star is on offer on Amazon, from £24.99 down to £14.99. The Sophia character is also £10 so makes a good bundle.https://amzn.eu/d/5P9wWqU

Thank you so much!

buckeejit · 22/11/2025 10:35

please could someone remind me of the replica kit site or mystery kit site that folk were loving - looking for basketball or maybe football tops?

also if anyone can think of anything that would be a good gift for a badminton fan or exercise/outdoorsy teen, that would be fab & bonus points for small things as we’re away for Christmas 😁

@heartofsunshine the 10 Neom oils for £100 is good value on qvc if you could gift or stash or use the other 6?

Moltenpink · 22/11/2025 10:40

Could anyone recommend some made in uk brands for gifts for a 25 year old woman? I’m posting to China, so I don’t want to accidentally get her something that was made there in the first place!

I would appreciate a code please if it’s multi use?

It doesn’t look multi use. If anyone else has a blue light card they might be able to send you one? X

@Moltenpink - Celtic & Co do some lovely knitted items made in the UK and XMAS25 takes £20 off any full price item. They had a made in Scotland cashmere headband the other day that came to just £9.95 and that was with postage. You may even be able to get something sent straight to her in China:

https://www.celticandco.com/

You could also look at sites like the NT website:

https://shop.nationaltrust.org.uk/gifts.html

Toast is another good call, (although a LOT of their stuff is made in China so you have to be careful). SOME of their small knitted accessories are made in the UK, for example, these:
