Stocking gifts for KS2 age Children.

We buy one gift for each child from us, and another they can give to each other. These will be slightly higher value and something they have specifically asked for. Then we will buy some other bits to put in a stocking.

So far all I have is a small gave each, suitable for taking on holiday and the whole family to play together. Will get them some Chocolate coins to go in there.

I really want a low waste and VERY low tat Christmas as we have no space for stuff. But they also love the unwrapping gifts, so would like to put some bits in a stocking.

Just wondering what others are doing to get some inspiration.

You can’t go wrong with nice stocking gifts at that age - try Rex London, Closet & Botts, National Trust shops, Flying Tiger, Sostrene Green and the pocket money section at John Lewis. Are your DC boys or girls?
Some ideas:

  • pack of sun paper for doing contact photography (National Trust often has these)
  • old fashioned compass
  • mini microscope to look at things in nature
  • kaleidoscope or insect eye viewer (can get wooden ones or nice paper ones)
  • light up keyrings or mini torch
  • floating bath disco light
  • disco projection light for their room
  • mini soft toy - Jellycat if feeling flush, or for cheaper ones try National Trust shops
  • fairy lights for their room
  • mini painting kit - Rex London often has these
  • a Christmas book
  • Hair scrunchies or similar for girls
  • NT also does a cute silk daisy chain set for girls
  • mini Lego bag or minifigure bag
  • prism or CMY cube
  • magnet set
  • mini craft kit
  • interesting pencil or pen with a topper
  • mini game like Dobble, Sussed or Taco Cat Goat Cheese whatever it’s called
  • mini snow globe
  • interesting bath bomb or bath fizzer/crackles
  • the usual satsuma!
  • chocolate items and interesting sweets - try Sostrene Grene

We never did the typical stocking gifts, we put gifts in DD would get anyway, just small enough.

Books
Stationary
any character items like a t-shirt they want and you don't.
Jewellery for girls, we bought Accessorize or Lovisa bracelts for 10/11 year olds, look more grown up but still pre-teen suitable. There is also plenty on Etsy.
Bath/Shower stuff
