Free app for tracking gifts?

Is there a good free app I can use to track gifts I need to buy, have bought and money spent? Or is a good old fashioned spreadsheet still the way forward (I am crap at excel!)

I've tried gift list this year and it's good- you can add lots of people, password protect, tot up amounts, tick for when bought/ wrapped etc.

I literally have a 'waiting for" folder in my emails. All initial receipts/tracking goes in there and then I delete out as it arrives.
