Hair curler for beginners?

My 12 year old has asked for some hair curlers for Christmas but she is new to hair curling and I am rubbish at anything hair related! I like the look of the tymo curlpro but I am not sure if it’s any good if maybe she would be better with a curling wand? Anyone got any recommendations please?

Has she actually said ‘hair curlers’ because if so she might mean those bendy rollers as they are all the rage.

Has she tried sock curls or using a dressing gown belt for heatless curls? My daughter is a 13 year old pro! A curling wand is great but we have had burnt fingers. This year I’ve given in after 3 years of her asking and got a Dyson air wrap.

Another to recommend wrapping hair around a dressing gown cord. The curling wand ruined my daughters hair.

My dd 12 has asked for these:
TYMO CURLPRO Automatic Rotating Curling Iron

You can buy a rod to do overnight heatless curls. I wouldn't buy the hot electric curlers, they can cause burns and damage hair. I bought one for mine but quickly regretted it. I ended up getting her the heatless curl set (soft rod and scrunchies) then upgraded it to a dyson airwrap.

I have one of those like the tymo above but much cheaper from amazon, it makes really good curls with good hold and is easy to use on mid length very fine hair, despite looking incredibly dodgy.

I always use GHD curl hold which does help the hold a bit and also seems to do a good job of protecting hair, and a little goes a long way - there are probably cheaper/better ones but the GHD works well for me.

Just bumping this cause I'm also on the lookout for a budget curling wand for dd. Was looking at the Remington one if anyone has tried this and can advise?

The tymo is £100 on amazon now. Any cheaper alternatives around?
