If you have a 3-4ft tree, where do you put it?

Every year we get a real tree for our lounge which has very high ceilings, so it's normally about 10ft. I love it but we don't get it until normally around 10th December.

This year I've treated myself to a 3.5ft tree, pre lit (and so not a real one) so I can have a tree up earlier. I've found some beautiful decorations for it and can't wait to set it up.

The sight sticking point is that now it's here I think it's probably too big for the space I'd envisaged it would go in, on the table in the hall.

So - please inspire me with your best 3ft tree locations!

We’ve got a little tree (about 4ft) that we bought a few years ago when we had a new puppy who chewed everything to destruction. My Mum was seriously ill in hospital and we didn’t have the energy to put a full size tree up, even if it was safe. We were resigned to not having a tree when we saw the little tree on display in Ikea.

We put it on top of our drinks cabinet in the living room and just put our favourite decorations and a tiny string of lights on it. Nowadays we put the big tree up and the little tree is on our sideboard. I’m guessing that the issue is the amount of space your little tree takes up, rather than the height? Small table in a corner? On a landing? Somewhere you usually have a standard lamp?

Our little tree was screwed onto a board when we bought it….last one in Ikea and they let us take it off the display. That was handy when it was on the drinks cabinet as the cabinet was narrower than the base of the tree. The board kept it stable. That might give you more options for placing it somewhere!

Thanks this is very helpful actually!

I might move a lamp table to a slightly different place and have it on there...

Will be setting it up soon so hoping this will be a winner!

On the sideboard here too where the new puppy can’t reach it

In top of a sideboard. I'm hoping the height will deter the puppy but that's probably optimistic.
