Yoto box vs Tonie Box

My daughter is 6 and i wondered firstly if she is too old for one of these and secondly which you’d recommend for a child of her age.
they both look very similar so unsure if it makes much difference which you go for. It looks like Tonies may be for younger children.
They are a lot of money, so don’t want to get one if she won’t get much use out of it

My 9 year old still uses his Yoto, he has a "mix tape" that i made for him with his favourite songs. I think it'll certainly do him until he gets a phone and starts getting music on that.

Huge fan of the yoto mini here (children are almost 7 and 4). It's so portable, can make your own cards using borrow box which is free (they ask that you delete/return the story at the end of the loan time which is usually fine for us) or can also make MP4 mix tape type cards etc. There's radio, sleep sounds, podcasts and it just all feels like it takes up less space than the tonie. Also feel that it has more longevity as it doesn't look so much like it's designed for little kids like the tonie characters.

Another fan of the yoto mini here. I can't see it being too young for some time. Lovely range of audio books to buy as well as music etc

Yoto all the way. Ours have had them from 18m.

No experience of Yoto, but I would say you probably wouldn’t get much use out of tonie box.

Kids used to like listening to the stories at bedtime (Gruffalo, Beauty and the Beast etc) but I could see them growing out of it by 6.

They also didn’t ever really play with it during the day, it was always just at bedtime, and not every night because a lot of nights we would read.

That’s great advice thank you. i’m so glad I asked; I was so close to buying a Tonie!

Our grandaughter (9) loves both the yoto and yoto mini, she prefers the mini and there os so much choice for older children. Her christmas list is harry potter and kpop cards.

Yoto, so much more than “just” stories. We listen to Jake’s radio station each morning. Use it as a night light and colour changing clock showing when it’s not a ridiculous time to come in to our room….

You can also save the stories to the app and play it via apple play via car stereo

Yoto is really good, my daughter has been using it since 3 and she's 6 now! Still listening every day and she absolutely loves it. What's great is that they have huge range of cards for all ages. I would recommend the mini version as it's easy to take along everywhere.

I'd just get a CD player with radio, a USB port and Bluetooth. Much cheaper, more versatile, and grown up.
