Where do you get your inspo for Christmas decorations? I see a lot on Instagram but it all seems to be Americans so either stuff I can't find here, or they all seem to have bloody huge windows and high ceilings so what they do just wouldn't work for me.

I'm really not very creative so basically have to copy something someone else has done. Are there any UK based Facebook groups you can upload photos and ask for suggestions (I won't be doing that here for obvious reasons).

I want my house to look like a beautiful winter wonderland, in a tasteful way, but I always end up just not quite hitting the mark.

Have you looked on Pinterest for ideas? You can then get inspiration for using things you've already got.

Yes, but the same thing happens to my brain with any type of decoration. I get this kind of weird, overwhelmed feeling and don't know where to start to adapt things for my own house. I need step by step instructions as I'm a simpleton.

What have you already got? Gather it together and take a photo to post here?
How much are you willing to spend?
What furniture/rooms etc do you want to decorate? Eg mantle piece? Dresser? Hallway ceiling? Etc etc
How crafty/artistic are you? Do you have time to diy?

Look up Christmas decorating for 3 bed semi?

You should start with all the questions Socktree asked.

ok, thank you. I will try and get a photo of my existing random assortment over the weekend.

I mainly want to decorate the living/dining room which had a window to the front of the house and bifold doors at the other end. The tree ends up somewhere along the centre of the wall. I also want to decorate the hallway, which is a reasonable size and has a horizontal banister and large sideboard (storage cupboard) that I'd like to make look warm and cosy with Christmas vibes. Ceilings are optional. I love the look I keep seeing of the tension rods being decorated and hung but my ceilings aren't high enough to allow for that really (and I have a tall family).
I'm not naturally gifted at crafting but I do like having a go, if something isn't too tricky. Budget needs to be kept to the lower end - I so wish I could spend hundreds on christmas lights, but I will just need to stockpile over the next 10 years.
