What does your DD ~3 YO play with?

She has 2 older brothers but isn’t very interested in their football, magnatiles or duplo.

She loves dolls. We have a dolls house though that she’s not interested in and a play kitchen they’ve all enjoyed over the years. Any inspiration for Christmas and birthday not long after?

What does your nearly 3 year old love to play?

Dressing up costumes started to be popular with mine at that age.
Have you got all the dolls accessories such as a pram, car seat, different outfits etc?
Our toy keyboard with a mic was also very well used from about 2/3 years.

ah yes dressing up. I’m sure she’d love that. Maybe need more dolls accessories actually. Thank you. Great suggestions. Absolutely not getting keyboard though 😂

My daughter loves small world type play, happy land or Playmobil 123 figures.

My 3yo DD would be outside from dawn till dusk if she could, so scooter, bike, mud kitchen, accessories for the mud kitchen, head torch for winter post-4pm at the park, warm wellies, snowsuits for her dolls, bike seat for a doll, beach toys would all go down well here.
Or failing that, alllllll the doll accessories. And a toy midwifery/obstetrics kit (does such a thing exist?) for the million times a day we enact her (or me) giving birth to one of her dolls. I'm not sure how effective the epidural is when administered via a calpol syringe to the back 🤔

DD has just turned 4 - for the last year she has played so much with the fisher price little people Disney princesses and Disney castle / little people Barbie’s. She loves Disney princesses generally though so the dolls were also a big hit

My daughter is 5 now but at that age:

Anything outdoorsy. Wellies, scooters, trikes, gardening stuff, swing etc.

Anything arts and crafts suitable for her age.

Forgottenmyphone · 13/11/2025 06:49

DD’s absolute favourites at that age were Playdoh, tricycle, sandpit, toomies and mini trampoline.

Has she got a doctor's kit so she can treat all of her unwell dolls and teddies?

My daughter was really into:
playdoh
drawing/colouring/craft
dolls, pram, highchair cot etc
dplls house for small world play
books
loads of fancy dress
she had these colour matching bears with cups that she loved and played with for long stretches

she’s almost 5 now and still very much into the above list

for more practical gifts around that age she got
a dressing table
clothes
outdoor clothes
shoes

for the record she also has an older brother so does have plenty of Duplo, train sets etc. she just gravities to more gender traditional toys so at 3 we gave in and got her the dolls!
