I’m making Christmas cakes as presents.

Those who have tried both, which do you prefer, Delias Creole Christmas Cake, or Mary Berry’s Classic Christmas Cake?

Mary Berry every time! There's also a very clever calculator on the BBC food website for her recipe where you enter the size if your tin and it gives you the quantities and cooking time. Bloody brilliant and saves the guesswork of sizing up or down.

DH prefers the creole one. If i make a standard cake I soak the fruit in brandy for a few days, up to a week . My MiL who worked with Mary Berry for a while said it was better than hers although I can't decorate for toffee.
