Best garlands for a fireplace

I’m looking for a garland for our fireplace. Ideally something natural looking and maybe pre-lit for ease. The plan is to add some hooks or clamps to secure it so it doesn’t have to be too thin. Any suggestions?

I use butchers’ hooks, which are an ‘S’ shape, and push them onto the mantelpiece and poke the different elements of the garland, or as we call it, the swag it works very well,

Looks very festive. I will have a look at butcher’s hooks.

Does anyone have any suggestions for good garlands? Or places to look at least? There’s such a wide range of prices and I’m struggling with understanding whether it’s worth paying more or whether cheaper options can be just as nice.

I got a good one from John Lewis. Their garlands are pretty good in real life compared to the photos.

This is the kind of thing I’ve been looking at although ideally with lights: https://www.floralsilk.co.uk/christmas/wreaths-garlands/faux_oakham_garland_YX47516RED-GR/#feefo-product-review-widgetId

Dunelm have got nice stuff. I got a Christmas door swag from there that's nice

Christmas Tree World are very good. I got a tree from there a few years ago on MN recommendation as a better value alternative to Balsam Hill.

If you don't mind spending a bit more, then Balsam Hill!

I had a garland like this until recently, it had a piece of brown string tied near the two ends so you put the string on top of the mantelpieceand the garland hangs underneath

I would go and see a few in real life as some are really not great and it would be awful to buy one online and it arrive snd be poor quality. Check out Dunelm/ TK Maxx/ Home Bargains etc or whatever you have nearby and see if you can find one you like. We have a Blue Diamond garden centre nearby and saw some lovely ones there although they were fairly expensive they were fantastic quality.
