What are you getting/what have they asked for?

I know that DD is definitely going to ask for Labubus, Sticki Rolls, Horrid Henry books and Robux. I think that she might ask for a switch but unsure on that right now.

I am finding my 8 year old so difficult to buy for this year. She is 8. Also into labubus and Roblox.
so far she has a k pop demon hunter sweat shirt from Zara and some trainers from next that look like new balance.
I thought about a switch but they are expensive and I just don’t know if she will play with it enough as she’s really enjoying playing with school friends on Roblox.
she already has a bike and a tablet obviously. She’s not long had her room decorated. I just can’t think of any big presents to buy it’s such a difficult age.

Forgottenmyphone · 28/10/2025 05:16

So far for her stocking I’ve got:
Heishi beads
Percy Pig body spray
Scented nail polish
Legami pens
Pink hot chocolate

She’s asked for and/or getting:
Suite spaces
Bldr squishmallows
Simbricks
Kumi Kreator
Lite Brite
Djeco Mi House

Dontsparethehorses · 28/10/2025 05:24

My 9 year old is also getting a huntrex hoodie! She sounds similar! She is getting an Amazon echo dot kids (the new space themed one) as her main present which has subscription for stories etc on it. She is also getting a badge maker as she is very crafty and wants to make them for all her friends. She has some smaller presents such as one of those 3d printed dragon eggs (has wanted one for ages but I always say no), lots of books - she loves reading so these are ones she’s asked for but happy to share if helps) and a snoopy game for her switch.

NatalieH2220 · 28/10/2025 06:12

8yo boy but some main ideas I'm considering are
Trampoline
laptop
cat
smart watch

He is really into his Echo Dot right now so another idea if she doesn’t have one

SaraSosej · 28/10/2025 06:24

So far I’ve got

electronics kit
fairy potion kit
doughnut maker
art supplies (watercolours and paper)
a box of themed squishies
pokemon merch - water bottle, notebook, pen

Hmmmmwineandchocs · 28/10/2025 06:25

From Santa a set of squishalongs, from family:
stick on nail salon from smyths
make your own bath bomb kit from smyths
kinetic sand ice cream parlour
jellycat bunny
a bitzee
plasma lamp

Need 1 or 2 more gifts from us though as the bitzee and jellycat are the only things from us

Wracking my brain with my 9yo dd. She hasn't asked for much. She seems to be going off labubus, typically after I finally got a genuine one for Christmas.
I think I'm going to get her a bean bag chair, as she's wanted one for ages, for her main pressie.
She has asked for plouise lip balms, monsterhigh doll, animal crossing lego.
I have got already some crafting kits, small collectable blind bags from ticktock shop and body sprays.
We got her a switch last year but she never plays it, dress to impress on roblox is her game!
She will get clothes probably, maybe a voucher so we can hit the sales together!

Rituelec · 28/10/2025 06:30

Mine has the build a bear kit.

purplespink · 28/10/2025 07:28

Oh yes, KPop DH stuff. I wish Mattel would release their dolls before Christmas! Don’t actually think that there’s a great variety of KPop DH stuff out currently.

Watching as mine is just about to turn 8!

purplespink · 28/10/2025 07:32

@Teresetadress to impress is also what my Dd likes, she has the annual VIP thing for it.

That’s why I’m hesitant re switch.

Interested to hear you are getting a.badge maker. I considered one for DD last year but didn't know if she would use it enough. I was so excited using one as a child myself!

Has she had the dti figures, they have a code in there as well as a plastic doll (way over priced for what it is)
There needs to be a help group for dress to impress parents called "mum what is steampunk" 🤪

purplespink · 28/10/2025 07:57

@Teresetayes😂😭 ‘mum what is chic’ etc

purplespink · 28/10/2025 07:58

@Teresetayes she has, couldn’t believe how small they were when they turned up!

Mine is nearly 10 but quite a young nearly 10.
She’s getting pottery lessons (trying to limit STUFF) with some clay and tools to open on the day.
Also a K-pop poster.

She’d love a K-pop hoodie but has too many jumpers so resisting that!

in her stocking she has stickirolls, skin tone colouring pencils, one of these magnetic things (not sure what to call them so had to link!), cat origami, a stitch shower cap, a whack a mole keyring and a brain rot blind bag (Father Christmas always brings things I would never buy in a million years). Plus sweets, chocolate and pants and socks of course! Then her present from Father Christmas is a water gel art set (which I think is going to be a bit of a disappointment but she really wanted one)

She’s really easy to buy for but has so much already!

mamatoTails · 30/10/2025 21:36

twin girls who are 8, I think we are getting them a switch lite each.
then no idea!
They also like K-pop demon hunters so maybe something to do with that.
They also like Nike trainers, then a stocking so probably not much else if they get a switch each. I’ll probably ask grandparents to get them
a case each and maybe some games to share.

TheGriffle · 30/10/2025 21:44

My dd is 8, nearly 9. She’s hard to buy for as she doesn’t really play with many toys anymore, she mostly plays Roblox, minecraft or is reading or crafting things at home.

Shes getting lots of crafty bits, paper, card, stickers etc along with some Robux and a Starbucks voucher.

She loves capybaras so I’ve got her a capybara Hug-a-Lump and some capybara stationary.

Shes asked for Guess Who and I’ve got her an Airup bottle and some pods, she’s got a couple of Demon Hunter T-shirts and tickets to a K-pop concert and her main present is a Yoto and I’m hoping some cards will be on sale for Black Friday so I can get her a little selection as she loves a bedtime audio story.

Where are you getting a badge making thing from please? I think she’d love that as well (her birthdays in March so if I buy too much in the run up to Christmas some bits get allocated as birthday presents!)

Remove the tablet and buy her toys. Forced adulthood is going to create lots of problems
