As the title suggests looking for ideas for a family gift (not individual presents) for DSIL, DBIL and 2 DN's (13&12). We agreed family gifts to try and reduce clutter but I am stumped for ideas! Anything anyone has seen or gotten before which was well received would be superb 🎄
Last year I put together a night in hamper (game, takeaway voucher, drinks and snacks)

Last year’s idea sounds great. I was going to suggest a board game.
Hot chocolate maker/ velvetiser and cups/ ingredients ( milk frother an alternative)
Ice cream maker, sundae dishes, sprinkles etc
Throws popcorn/ snacks
Have a browse on Lakeland or Robert Dyas for a gadget they could all share

What’s the budget?

What’s the budget?

Up to £100 max I think - sorry should have put that earlier!

I think I am going with spicery kit for a family gift this year - just need to decide soon as its on offer in october and a good saving! Its well under your budget though so you might want to add some balti dishes or something to make up the budget if you will be judged!

previous years i have done games, escape room vouchers and themed food hampers for them but the kids are now a bit older than your families ones and I want to shift to it being a more adult focussed experience - I think cookery still works for a younger family though so you could do bread ingredients and book, or italian, or a waffle/donut maker etc if they like food but not curry...

Haven’t tried it but saw these advertised the other day and thought they looked interesting, a kind of themed scavenger hunt around a city picking up food at various local businesses as you go.

Tickets / voucher for an experience? Depends what they’re into and what they’ve got locally…….escape room, cinema, ice hockey, splatter art, ninja warrior type places, afternoon tea, indoor ski lesson…..

Vitriolinsanity · 27/10/2025 20:34

Cinema voucher

TSnewbie · 28/10/2025 08:15

netflix or disney+ subscription?

OMGitsnotgood · 28/10/2025 08:34

I’d consider doing the game night idea again, and making it an annual thing. This is assuming they enjoy games and that you could find out what they already have. Some sort of escape room at home? Ours always loved Pictionary.
i’m not usually a big fan of vouchers but for a family gift would consider a 10 pin bowling voucher + voucher for pizza after, if there are places next to each other where this would work.

Popcorn maker with reusable popcorn containers or a personalised popcorn bowl, chocolate fountain, plus a big hamper of food and trimmings to make with them.

TheignT · 28/10/2025 09:32

I've done a Hotel Chocolat velvetiser, sign onto VIP and you get 20% off I think. Also done a Cadbury's hamper which seemed the biggest hit with the two kids, similar ago to your DNs, a membership for local zoo but that was more expensive.

Just thought I have also done tickets to a sports event they like so football one year, basket ball another but obviously lots of choices depending on interests.
