Gift ideas for 4 year old boy

My nephew turns 4 just before Christmas. He really likes being outside, loves tractors (but has a ride on one), likes playing with footballs but has goal etc. He isn't into crafts or art and prefers doing things. I am trying to think of things for both birthday and Christmas that aren't too stuffish but also I don't want to take the most fun things away from his parents. Any ideas for gifts would be great! Thank you.

Mine turns 4 just after, it’s a bugger trying to think of things!

Climbing & balancing stuff? It varies hugely by budget so if you’re a rich aunt who adores him, you could go full on wooden climbing frame for the garden. If your budget is midway, then tell him about parkour and maybe something like this; https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/pre-school-and-electronic-learning/play-factory/play-factory-balance-beam-set/p/236398 (they have got a cheaper version) or even just the balance stepping stones https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/pre-school-and-electronic-learning/play-factory/play-factory-stepping-stones-6-pack/p/238597 These stepping stones aren’t a great example and there are better, cheaper ones out there (as well as really boring ones that cost a fortune. You could play The Floor is Lava with him and have a great time.

Or https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/games-puzzles-and-books/board-games/adult-and-party-board-games/hasbro-simon-jump-electronic-game-mat/p/248039 Will burn off some energy now the weather’s on the turn.

Or tickets for stuff. Are you anywhere near Kent, Devon or Yorkshire? You could take him to a Digger Land. Not tractors exactly but quite close and still fun for a four year old.

Does he like Bluey? They have a duplo set out.

A stomp rocket has recently been a big hit in our house

What is your budget? Magnatiles are great and pack away neatly.

Tractor pyjamas? There are quite a few cute designs. Powell Craft do a Bertie tractor one and I think there are some Tractor Ted ones by an online farm toys company - but you will find loads if you google.

he sounds exactly like my son:

lighthouse clothing do nice tractor hoodies for kids

4 is the right age to get into more detailed play with vehicles - Bruder brand make tractors and other vehicles exactly like the real things. Many farm accessories too.

siku is another great vehicle make for small vehicles

a remote control tractor and trailer was also a hit with my boy

Try the Tractor Ted website. My DS loves the books and has the dinner set.

A recommendation off of Mumsnet that I have followed:

Try the Wicked Uncle website. They have lots of ideas for boys and girls, categorised by age.

Wheelbarrow and gardening tools and some seeds and bulbs to grow flowers and veg.

Thank you so much for these suggestions, some brilliant ones. Think I'm sorted for birthday and Christmas!
