Asda Christmas Food Order 2025

I really, really, really like to be organised for Christmas and get 'everything' done

As an Asda Delivery Pass holder (of many years) I was able to get a Christmas delivery slot yesterday for Christmas Week. So far, so fabulous.

I can't actually order any Christmas food though as it's not yet available. It's not even there as pictures to tempt me.

I think there might be Christmas food to order from 17 October (but that's guess work really), but who knows? Okay, I realise it's only two days away so not long to wait. And it is only October.

But why open the slots if you can't actually put anything in the basket that's 'special' Christmas related. Is their computer system so weak that it would be knocked over if all their delivery pass customers went on line, booked and shopped in the same 24/48hr period. And I suspect many delivery pass holders won't be like me and aren't as keen as mustard to get things sorted.

I realise I am been unreasonable - but obviously can't post this in AIBU as its a Christmas topic !!!!!

I’ve just popped holding items in my basket and checked out to save the slot . Later on I will order what I actually want . Actually Asda ordering system has been pretty hit and miss since they changed it , so maybe they couldn’t load everything at the same time .

I don’t think it matters, if I did an order now for December I would be in and out editing several times before delivery. The slot is the important part to you and you have that so all good?

I’ve done this to secure the slot.

I don't have a delivery pass and usually wait until the slots open for all BUT as a PP says, Asda online service has been awful for me recently and I'm worried about using them for mt Christmas shop this year. Does anyone else feel the same?

For example I was affected by the pending payment thing a couple of months ago and every time I do an order and try and amend it the night before it doesn't process my payment.

onceuponatimeinneverland · 16/10/2025 09:03

Yup, I've booked slot(,s) with staples such as milk, and I will be in and out of the slot right up to the deadline probably. But I was looking forward to seeing all the nice stuff . I probably need to get out more.

And yes the Asda ordering app is clunky and sometimes problematic anyway.

I have a delivery pass too but haven't heard anything about Christmas slots - in fact like @PumpkinSpicedTea I have had dreadful trouble with my orders since they updated the website and app - can't check out, won't accept my debit card (which is working fine everywhere else) just my credit card. I have messaged on FB, emailed (no reply) and phoned - and just been fobbed off with nonsense, no answers. I have done online Asda shops for twenty years but am seriously considering another supermarket. In fact have booked a Tesco delivery for next week to see how it goes.

I have just been on the site and it won't let me look at the orders page - I can book my future reserved slots, but nothing for Christmas. Honestly what a shitshow, I am so disappointed because the delivery guys are all great.

BellRock1234 · 16/10/2025 09:54

I have saved the slot with booze. I will be pretty wary this year though and get it finalised as early as possible, as the app has been awful. I do tend to buy early and freeze where possible anyway.

A word of warning. A delivery driver once warned me against booking slots and then updating nearer the time. (After turning up with 6 bottles of prosecco, and me going "but I amended this! I don't even like prosecco!"). Apparently there is a maximum weight limit per van. So if everyone else has ordered more than usual, and you are the last to update, then you might not be allowed to amend.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 16/10/2025 16:28

@VexedofVirginiaWater exactly this. We've used them for years but last few months has been a nightmare. The same with checking out. I'm left frustrated trying to check out my amends with it not putting my card through. Then we got caught up in the pending payments meant about £1500 was pending in my bank account as it took off payments 40 times! I want to keep using them as we get a discount through hubby's work but considering Tesco as well.

Sorry to derail but it's more because I am worrjed about my Christmas shop for this reason! Also my Christmas cash pot is so low this year despite all the money I've spent on Asda this year.

VexedofVirginiaWater · 16/10/2025 17:38

@PumpkinSpicedTea OMG that's awful about that huge amount of money pending in your account - did you manage to get it sorted out?

I have a bit of an update on mine - I went on the site again after I posted and still couldn't see the Christmas slots. What I did see was a prompt to check out my next reserved slot, so I did - and wonder of wonders it accepted my debit card. Then it kept coming up with the next reserved slot up to mid December, so I checked them all out and then I could access the Christmas slots, so I booked one.

Have you phoned about your account PumpkinSpicedTea? I know you probably have, and I know that I said the person was a bit useless, but he did take all my details and the next time I went on the site it did seem to work, so maybe he wasn't as useless as I had thought. Talking to their FB messenger was a bit useless though.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 17/10/2025 15:50

@VexedofVirginiaWater yes it got sorted the same day. But I had to cancel my card etc. I got an apology eventually and told it was a glitch so decided to try them again but I have the fear! I always use them for my Xmas shop so really unsure what to do 😂

That sounds promising that you've been able to secure your Christmas slot and it actually accepted your card details this time!

Ramona75 · 20/10/2025 15:58

Christmas shopping, arrggggh! Usually click and collect for me in a cold busy carpark!

PumpkinSpicedTea · 21/10/2025 16:59

@Ramona75 yes I usually do click and collect!

That's slots open for everyone now and I am still unsure what to do 😂

PumpkinSpicedTea · 22/10/2025 08:38

My Asda don't seem to have Christmas Eve as an option. I never choose it and go 23rd but wondered if anyone is the same? It's not even saying sold out its just not there.

TheCleverPeachOtter · 24/10/2025 16:38

Hi there

Does anyone know when the full Christmas Food To Order will be available online... I've messaged asda on X but they just said keep an eye on their website
