Walnuts. Dried figs (the big white ones, not those soggy things).

Ophy83 · 13/10/2025 18:57

The cheese choices are particularly important... mine are: a nice blue- Stilton or Kentish blue, a soft (maybe brie), a really good cave aged cheddar (one that has crystals in it), comte, maybe something smoked amd/or a local speciality. My absolute worst cheese is wensleydale with fruit in, but I know some people love it and consider it a festive essential!

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 13/10/2025 18:57

Wensleydale with cranberries is essential

Olives, more olives, marinaded olives, pickled chilli garlic, olives, chargrilled artichokes, olives, cheese, olives, cheese, cheese, onion, olives, bresaola, mortadella, salami, cheese, olives, cornichons, caperberries, maybe a few olives, cheese, blue cheese, goats' cheese, GF bread with olives and cheese, tomato GF bread, chilli garlic lemon marinaded sardines, pickled chilli, cashews, pistachios, all in separate little bowls.

Oh, and maybe some olives and cheese. I'm a bit worried I haven't got enough of those.

That’s too funny 🤣

Crisps, about 7 cheeses ham, salmon prawns, mushrooms a la greque, bajan fishcakes, salad , bread, bread sticks, cheese biscuits,. And that just for the 3 of us. DH will never under cater if he can over cater. Personally I blame my late MiL who worked on the assumption that if you could move you hadn't eaten enough

Christmas grazing board?
CHRISTMAS GRAZING BOARD? 😡
I would sweep the lot off the table into the bin.
Christmas grazing board, my ass!
Pot Noodles all round, two if they're peckish.
And a glass of Sandeman's Tawny Port, two if they're a bit thirsty.

DeanElderberry · 13/10/2025 19:00

Some chicory/endive for people who can't (or don't want to) eat wheat or grains.

And have a layout that keeps allergens away from the rest of the food.

DeanElderberry · 13/10/2025 19:03

Some will howl, but I'm partial to proper coronation sauce (with whipped cream) for my leftover turkey. But maybe that's not for grazing day.

IAmThePrettiestManOnMyIsland · 13/10/2025 19:03

Smoked salmon and cream cheese blinis. Tempura prawns with sweet chilli dip. Blue cheese dip. I usually cook a whole ham in cider, then roast it with honey and we carve as we go.

Lovemycat2023 · 13/10/2025 19:07

Baked Camembert and nice wine 🍷 (white too, and desert)
