Hello,

Just hoping for some ideas please, DS hasn’t hinted anything this year for Christmas and says he doesn’t know what he wants. We’re already getting him a Nintendo Switch 2 but that’s not much😅

Hoping for some ideas from all you lovely lot for what you’ll be getting your 7 year old DS or relatives please?

stocking fillers too as feel as though these get repetitive

❤️

That’s not much? They are over £400 and by the time you’ve bought a few games….

Exactly!! What am I missing here?!

BananaPeachPie · 16/10/2025 22:10

Mines asked for a magic set, a squishmallow dragon and chocolate eclairs.
Im also going to get him a football swingball and an electronics kit.
for his stocking he has a stylus for his iPad, figits, Minecraft socks, and skipbo.

My 8 year old is getting a drum set (to share with his brother), lots of Lego sets, magnetic tile sets to add to their current collection so they can build bigger things and a marble run set that adds on to it. He’s into Minecraft so I’ve got him a nightlight and looking at pj set and oodies. Fancy pencil case, pen sets and art case and some Xmas Lego and activity books

This sounds like a lot but it’s his birthday at Xmas time too so half will be for his birthday and the rest for Xmas.

CalliopePlantain · 17/10/2025 17:52

all my boy wants is books so will be getting a small libraries worth.

yasbilybyas · 17/10/2025 17:55

I think we will get ds an MP3 player (yes they still exist!) and some over ear headphones as he's very into his music.

Otherwise Ive got him a Simon memory game and am thinking maybe a crystal growing set or mini terrarium thing. Looking for ideas on this thread too!!

teacupzs · 17/10/2025 17:57

@CalliopePlantain any ones you recommend? Mine has read all the wimpy kid, dog man & bunnies vs monkey.

Thank you!

Do you have this (or similar) by any chance? I’m very new to DS being into robotics, electronics etc so hoping for some actual reviews rather than online feedback…

Thank you so much for all of your ideas! I’m compiling a good little list too for future use 😃

RE the Switch not being a lot.. i didn’t word that very good, it’s a lot in money value of course but rather small and DS is only just 7 so doesn’t quite understand the quality over quantity yet, so little ideas (especially for family too - both me and DP have a huge family that buy for the children only) so I’ve got a good few ideas now.

Hes Minecraft crazy atm so I’ve been on the lookout for anything stationary related as he loves his drawings and writing.

Does anyone know where I might find fake jewels/stones etc please? I’ve bought him a treasure chest too as he loved one his close friend had and I’d like some fake jewels and bits to go in (sparkly rocks I would call them 🤣) but the likes of temu require a £15 min spend for anything and they only cost £2-3 at most

Thank you again!

amazon for the jewels- eg £4.99 here? https://amzn.eu/d/5VrJT3S you might get them cheaper in a tat type shop eg Poundland, the works etc but would probs take a lot of searching about

I just get what’s on the wish list. On my sons is a cricket set, typewriter, WWE wrestling stuff, a few Jurassic world dinosaurs and a new nerf gun. I’m also buying a kickboxing punchset as a shared present for him and his younger brother. (They both do martial arts and would love this for practice at home. )

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 18/10/2025 07:29

A yoto mini and headphones + cards. Some eldrador battle cages and figures. A Neon sign you can bend to say what you want. Some lego.

lotsofthingstolearn · 18/10/2025 07:41

One of our best gifts last year was a box I got from local junk shop and I filled it with a fossil set (Jurrasic Jim) and rocks as you said. Got like a shark tooth etc. Other small bits (one of these Indian elephants things)

Honestly he's had it out every day!

But doesn't someone have to keep reloading the football into the machine? Still lots of work!

Or can you load several balls at once?
