Family game for Christmas day - toddler edition

Last year I started what I hope will be an ongoing tradition of Santa bringing a game for the family.

Last year my boys were 2yrs and 4 months. I got a crocodile mouth, you push the teeth until it snaps.

With a 3yr old and 1yr old any suggestions?

Also, the Bluey Scavenger hunt board game is fantastic but your youngest may be a bit young for it this year x

Just do the crocodile mouth again
or a variation like hungry hippos

Thanks, good suggestions above as well. The younger boy probably is too small for anything really but I want to get them used to doing it.

Orchard toys are generally good, and Monkey Around by Peaceable Kingdom is worth looking at.

Funny Bunny and Hungry Hippos were my dc's favourites at that age.

Kids Dobble is good too.

Another vote for Monkey Around! My DD loved it at 2, and we still play it occasionally (at nearly 6).

I'd be worried the 1yr old could swallow the hungry hippo balls. I could get the travel version

Picture Snap playing cards might work.

Twister.

Sink n Sand is great, my 3yo loves it and can follow along well, and my 16mo can't play but he likes to throw the stray plastic sticks around and have a bit of Kinetic sand to mash up in a high chair.

Sorry to sidetrack OP but (firstly what a lovely idea!), did that game go down well with your children? Mine will be 2 and 5 months at Christmas and I’d love to have a game that we could all play together!

Kerplunk goes down great with our 3 year old, admittedly be careful of the marbles with the 1 year old!

We also have a "buckeroo" that is a unicorn version, and I've seen a paw patrol version as well.

Another good game you can make yourself is pass the parcel with charades in it, good for the 3 year old.

If your youngest was 4 months last year then they’ll be 16 months this year, not far off the age my DS is now. My DS like to join in everything and plays games with his older sibling, but hasn’t quite got turn taking yet. Something physical could be good, they both play the elefun game together where you catch the butterflies in the nets.
