I can think of literally 100’s of things my DD would like as she’s very girly so there’s so many things. DS is not into that kind of stuff but I’m not sure what to get him really! He doesn’t play with his Hot wheels or Playmobil anymore Sad what are you getting your DS’ the same age? Thank you so much in advance!

So far I’ve bought my 5 year old DS - 6 Lego sets, 3 switch Nintendo switch games and a telescope

Still need to buy:
A new book about space
Basket ball hoop for his bedroom door
Minecraft projector light
A couple of new board games as we love to play them together
And a BMX scooter

Then if we’ll see if he puts anything else on his list from now to December 🥰 but he’s mainly just asked for Lego and the hoop tbh!

MiddleAgedDread · 05/10/2025 19:39

Anything they’ve outgrown like a bike helmet.
the nephews are big fans of their lava lamps and their me wanted a bean bag for his room around that age.

DollyMixers · 05/10/2025 19:44

Unfortunately finally bit the bullet and got ds 8 a Nintendo switch, he’s been asking for what feels like years and we’ve resisted but it’s the one thing he really would adore so we’ve gone with it.

For his birthday I bought DGS a pocket microscope and gave him my old mobile t use as a screen.

JellyRains · 08/10/2025 21:50

For the 8 year old, a Pokémon guess ball they’re brilliant- 15 year old DC said it was exceptionally clever!

Somethingsgottagiveeventually · 08/10/2025 22:27

The magnetic (fake) Minecraft we got our 6yo last year are the best toy I think I've ever bought. He keeps them in a little bag so easy to take out to keep him occupied, relatively quiet, keep him in one place, creative, and not small enough to get lost easily. Better than Lego IMO.

DollyMixers · 09/10/2025 10:58

@Somethingsgottagiveeventually I don’t suppose you have a link to the specific one you bought, as I’ve been looking for ds but wasn’t sure which size set would be enough.
