His sibling is getting a new bike. DS already has a bike and scooter, has tonnes of Lego (and has loads more coming for his birthday in a few weeks). Needs to be something WOW but I have no ideas. Help please?
Budget £250-£300.

Trampoline
hoverboard
electric guitar
Vtech Kidizoom

Hoover board and roller-skates / blades are my DH ask for Christmas. Also the big harry potter lego castle. He has said you can never have enough lego. Just needs more shelves haha
Other ideas are body boards for the beach, drift and slide go kart thing, go kart, electric ride on car things.
We've been looking at the Ssmyths catelogue alot lately lol

Football goal, football, boots, kit, keeper gloves etc.
Basketball hoop and ball.
Pool table.

Yoto?
We got ours a desk last Christmas. We got him a really nice leather spinny chair, desk tidies all full with equipment like felt tips, coloured pencils, pens, rubbers, an electric pencil sharpener, coloured papers, a paper tray etc.

He absolutely loved it.

Mine wants a guitar.

I love our yoto, but I don't think it has the immediate "wow factor"

ConsternationStation · 03/10/2025 21:39

When our eldest was 7 he got a skateboard, helmets and pads as his main gift. Another year his "wow" present was a junior sized, acoustic guitar - a proper one, not a cheapy kids one.

Our youngest is now 7 and I've no idea what to get him for his Christmas this year. He's never particularly picky. Just asks for "presents"!

Nintendo Switch?

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 05/10/2025 11:41

How about giving him a catalogue and getting him to mark anything he’d like?

Our basketball stand for the garden has gone down well with my 8 year old.

Electric drum set with headphones so it doesn't drive you bonkers? 🤣

He would LOVE an electric drum kit, this is a great idea!

Thanks for all the suggestions. He’s already got a Yoto, and is very limited on screen time so a Switch isn’t an option.

Will have a look at football goals and basketball hoops!
