Light trail - London/ SE

I have been holding out in the hope that Eltham Palace would announce a light trail like they did a few years ago - it’s on our doorstep and was exactly what we want for this year.

Am now considering Kenwood and staying overnight nearby. Any other nice Christmassy things we could do in Hampstead?

thanks!

Hopeful bump - any other light trails I should consider? Reviews for Kenwood are pretty poor and Kew has sold out for when we want …

We have been to Bedgebury and Hever castle and they were bothered very good.

Another vote for Bedgebury. Also Leonardslee and Wakehurst.

Try Leeds Castle OP, which will be near to you if you’re in Eltham - only a 40 minute drive or so. Getting up to Kenwood or over to Kew can take ages depending on your mode of travel.
not sure why you would stay overnight though - it’s not that far?!

Don’t forget the free ones (they had them last year) at Charlton house and Hilly fields

@anothermondayyyit is with young kids in the middle of winter! We love to make a night of it.
I am really tempted by Hever

Hampstead is lovely but the Kenwood light trail isn't really a destination event. I've heard good things about Blenheim palace and Oxford is lovely

Leeds Castle is always nice, this year they have a Neverland theme. Or Port Lympne is doing a light trail this year - if you have £££ you could even stay over and spend a day at the safari park.

Thanks so much everyone - have booked Hever.
I bet Eltham Palace announce one now…
But the Wizard of Oz theme sounds lovely

Brands Hatch is also running a light trail this year

Welford Park where the bake off is filmed is having a light trail this year. For years they have run a snowdrop trail through their woodland so I imagine the lights will be on a similar path which should be pretty magical.
