Teen Girl (14) Gift Ideas not into beauty or clothes

WinchSparkle80 · 29/09/2025 06:03

Good Morning, I hope someone might have some suitable gift ideas for my lovely daughter. She isn’t into beauty/hair/make up.
She is autistic if that makes any difference so not into uncomfortable clothes or bright lights,

She is really into Japanese anime/manga and all I can think of is the Demon Slayer books - so will get here some more of those.

Ava Max is another love but she cancelled her gigs :-(

Any ideas would be particularly welcome. She is such a beautiful soul, never asks or wants anything. I really don’t want to give her money or vouchers as she never spends it.

Huge thanks in advance

Our DD is similar (although not autistic). She has loved over ear headphones, funky socks from somewhere like soctopus, and she also likes most crafts. Would your DD like a blanket to sew patches on (like they do for camp blankets in guides - you can get lots of patches online)? Pin badges are popular with the more alternative/geeky crowd which she tends to hang out with. Lego flowers have also been a hit.

Stanley cup?

AnneButNotHathaway · 02/10/2025 08:22

Something from the Ava Max's official store? Clothing items or signed CD or accessories, whatever she has in there? Could be something fanmade or you can make a custom wall calendar with her pictures (here is a guide for that or contact local photo stores, they usually do that)

You can get weighted sensory hoodies, there are a few companies that do them.
Tickets to a comic convention that has a big anime guest scheduled - We go to Monopoly events, tip Sundays are far quieter Saturdays, Saturdays are not good if your dd dosnt like crowds.
Grow your own Bonsai
Funko Pops - great if going to comic cons to get signed. You can also send merch including Funko pop boxes to get autographed even if you don’t attend an event.
Cash in a card with a note saying on X date you are going shopping to a place with shops that stock the things she likes so she can enjoy picking things herself.
Box Japanese or other foods she likes.

There are loads of cool anime gifts on Etsy, last year I had an anime portrait made of DS which he loved. He also loves Demon Slayer Funko Pops and plushies, Demon Slayer hoodies, a light box to trace Demon Slayer pictures.

Would she enjoy tickets to an anime con with some money to spend there?

EllatrixB · 04/10/2025 18:20

I just saw a How To Draw Anime type book in Smith's today, would that work?

Stompythedinosaur · 04/10/2025 19:20

Some of the things I've got for my 14yo dd are:

Musical tickets
Weighted cuddly toy
Etsy t-shirt around her interests
Couple of things for her room - a clock and a jewellery stand
A pyrography set
Some scrapbooking supplies

Where are you? I keep seeing adverts for a Japanese tea garden in Kent. you can have afternoon tea there or they do a whole day thing.

user2848502016 · 05/10/2025 09:00

Bubble tea kit?

WinchSparkle80 · 29/10/2025 08:27

Thank you all for these wonderful suggestions- this thread disappeared so will read through and come back.

She loves Demonslayer, we saw movie on her 15th bday, spy x family and Komi can’t communicate.

I saw Japanese garden visit mentioned- this is a brilliant idea!

Hobbycraft have an aisle of how to draw manga/anime, annuals, magazines, and colouring books well as displays of the different pens. It might be worthwhile popping in if you go past as it’s nice to see things in person!

My default for my 14yo is things for her bedroom. She loves big pillows, blankets & diffusers. Primark home have some nice bits in.

Mine is similar.

Also book tokens and a trip to a book shop

HonestViewer · 18/11/2025 22:36

I found an artist who designed a picture of my nephew as anime. Struggling to find his details, it was Franco or something similar.
She might like that? It was about £30.

I'll keep looking

chillimice · 18/11/2025 23:05

Aww my daughter is also 14 and has ASD.
She’s love anything mentioned but other thoughts:

Any fluffy heated blanket (weirdly doesn’t like weighted ones)
All jellycats esp the smaller cute ones (she has spent all year tucking the snowball into her bag when she goes away)
A really nice sketch book
A locket with a pic of the family/you and her
A mini photo book of nice things we’ve done together
A proper film camera
Candles of any kind or fairy lights
A badge maker
Is she into studio ghibli? Tickets to see Totoro?

If you can bear going on aliexpress there are sooo many cute demon slayer things for stocking fillers! There are also really lovely mini lego type japanese houses you can build which DD loved like just found this on AliExpress: £7.49 | Mini City Street View Noodle Shop House Building Blocks 4 in 1 Japanese Architecture Friends Figures Bricks Toys For Children a.aliexpress.com/_EJOlBVi this

Hello from a ND family!

I saw Sashiko mentioned a couple of times. This a lovely set I've got saved, supporting a small business too:

Lego Japan Postcard set

They are bringing out this amazing Japanese Blossom Wall Art but only after Christmas - One for next year?

Tickets to a Japanese themed event - I keep on getting adverts for Hyper Japan in London 2026?
https://hyperjapan.co.uk

We are all into Pokemon cards here, so lots of opportunities for local card show tickets. They tend to sell other popular cards e.g. One Piece, Magic The Gathering. It may be a hobby she's interested in getting into. It's the new version of collecting stamps and very ND friendly.

Sashiko Starter Gift Set
