I just kept adding things to my basket to the value of £25 and then it just charged me for the delivery and uber fees. It came to £6ish but then on the delivery page it took £1.50 off because I selected a 3 hour window for the delivery

Not working for me either.

SuitablyScolded · 24/09/2025 22:34

@Blessedbethefruitz this is the one I have saved, I'm not sure if he'll like a smoked cocktail so it might be a good starter kit and I can get fancier in future if he likes it.

This £10 version doesn't come with a torch, but thanks, the torch version looks good :) Do other people have blow torches already?!

MaryGreenhill · 24/09/2025 22:43

Nor me .

Not working for me either.

Its worked for me, but the delivery is tomorrow so if it was an error I expect they will cancel.

I had to opt in, the deal was at the top of the page. It did say it was limited to the first 1000/2000 opt ins (can't remember the number and its gone now!)

I do (creme brulee issues), but you can pick up a cook's blow torch for far less than £20 if that's the only difference 😊

Has anyone used Give Me cosmetics? I bought my dd a gift set a few weeks ago, I’ve just gone back in they are having an early Black Friday sale and bought a bunch of other stuff, the deals seem really good but I don’t know what the actual products are like. I’ve seen influencers flogging them but no irl reviews.

hugsandpugs · 24/09/2025 22:53

Some great prices in the converse sale!

Amazing deals on La Roche Posay for a limited time on Amazon. I just saved £60!

Oh these look amazing! From what age would you recommend them? Is 4 too young?

My 5yo DD loves playing with mine. I'd say it depends on how rough they are though, could potentially break I think if forced against it's will.

My daughter uses their hair care stuff and likes it. I think they are one of those permanent sale places though. I got her a hair are bundle in June on a deal and it’s still on a deal!

I think a bit older than 4 - for that age I would buy an infinity cube which is aimed at children I think in case they were accidentally a bit rough with it as I have seen those around the £12 mark.

@naiveandrestles on the previous thread you were asking for book recommendations for your teen and @dontknowwasmadetoknow recommended Eve of Man by Tom and Giovanna Fletcher- but thought it might be worth you both knowing that this is an incomplete trilogy, with the third book in the series having been originally anticipated sometime in 2020! It keeps getting it's release date pushed back and back, with the current release date for book 3 some time mid 2026 and likely to not be happening then either!

So I actually would highly suggest giving these books a miss until the point that book 3 does actually come out as unfinished series are very annoying! 😂

44PumpLane · 25/09/2025 07:17

I was in Costco (Gateshead) last night and they had some great bargains on books that I thought would be good to share:

5 Isadora Moon books for £9.99 (school/ birthday/ trouble/ camping/ fair)
5 Mirabelle books for £9.99 (bad day/ breaks rules/ double trouble/ takes charge/ midnight feast)
Throne of Glass box set (including Assassin's Blade) £45
ACOTAR box set (including Frost novella) £39.99
Cutie Colouring: Cafe Cuties and Capybara Cuties £7.99 for the two
Dog Man/Lord of the Fleas/& Cat Kid/the Scarlet Shedder £4.99 each

Obviously lots more offers and bargains but these were the ones I noted.

44PumpLane · 25/09/2025 07:26

Finally for now, I noticed in Primark they now have their Lush Snow Fairy dupe available.

The collection included:

Body cream with a shimmer £3.50
Shimmery body spray £3.50
Shimmery body scrub and shower gel that I think we're £3.50

A box with a mini shower scrub and shower gel for £4.50

A big bauble style package with a mini body spray and body lotion for £4.50 (I got 2 of these for my soon to be 9 year olds)

A sparkle bath fizzer in the shape of a chunky pink star wand for £1.80

They also had lots of different bath Fizzers for £1.50 including lots of Hello Kitty characters including a Halloween Hello Kitty!

Noted Aromas have a good sale on (they also usually do 342 around payday) and they are the BEST dupes.

I no longer buy expensive designer perfumes, the dupes are actually better and last longer. I get compliments all the time and have bought loads as gifts:

Thanks for this. I'm following the perfume thread and have purchased some sample size dupes of a few mentioned on there 🙂

Matalan Alder Hay pyjamas have launched today. We've had them every year since they started, its our christmas tradition, but sadly we won't be able to get them this year. They've changed the style and included buttons. My child is disabled and can not wear buttons

@Isittooearlyforchristmasmusic is there a way you could get some one who could sew to alter them for you? Seems such a shame.

WannaBeOrganised · 25/09/2025 08:17

Any clue what 20 year olds like?
I always opt for make up, but she is currently in hospital for an eating disorder and I'm not sure appearance related gifts would be appropriate. Or am I overthinking? I don't see her often enough to really know her, and shes technically an adult even though she's my niece so its weird to think of her as an adult!

DownWhichOfLate · 25/09/2025 08:20

@WannaBeOrganised - how about a big hoodie? If she has an eating disorder and is underweight she will probably feel the cold more and want to cover up. What’s your budget?

How about self care products that aren't necessarily related to appearance? A nice (non food) scented rich body moisturiser, a lip sleeping mask, a lovely plush fleece blanket, a book/book token/audible credit for while she's in the facility (perhaps ask one of her parents if they agree with the ideas and can point you in the direction of her preferred genres).

If she has a games console she uses maybe a puzzle game (eg if she plays animal crossing on the switch to pass time perhaps one of the cartridges that have brain training games).

Juiceinacup · 25/09/2025 08:44

i have also cancelled my 2 Hotel Chocolate boxes from Amazon I can’t gift them for November birthdays if the use by date is November and can’t be bothered with the hassle of trying to get a refund.

Pyjamas, hoodie, blanket, fluffy socks, perfume/body spray, a Stanley cup, Crocs… all popular in general but also all things I would have got DD when she had similar issues.

Thank you (and everyone else who suggested gifts).
I've gone for a white fox hoodie, hope she likes it:)
