Other one seems to be filling up fast!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
If you have any referral links then please post on this thread <a class="break-all" href="https://_[[//https//www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Thank you to whoever posted about the great No7 deal recently. I’m using the products myself but if anyone would like the gift bag that came with it, please PM me and I’ll post it to you.

Not a bargain, but this year's light up tins are finally in M&S. I got one of each kind. There are tea ones, 2 colours of Shortbread ones and 2 colours of mini truffle tins

Thanks. Should have mentioned but my husband has a high up role in an IT company and won’t have any Alexa type things in the house because he doesn’t trust them. 🤷‍♀️

You might like to look at Yoto? You can put music on make your own cards and link to podcasts and radio stations. No direct interface to Spotify but plenty of other options to give her access to music if you are avoiding Alexa (we are too).

We bought a second hand iPod that connects to a Bluetooth speaker we already had for our own phones. It looked “as new”. We put loads of her favourite music on it and a few pictures in the pictures folder (it doesn’t have a camera like a phone, but doubles as a pretend phone for her).

Gah - I can't find where the murder-mystery date night packs were on this thread. Has anyone done one and would recommend a particular adventure?

I work in AI and don’t trust Alexa either!!

There’s a few ways I’ve tried:

mp3 player with WiFi- either download the songs directly or using Spotify, you can parent control it by setting up google family link to stop the kids downloading apps/ control screen time
OR
Yoto player- you can link the playlists to physical cards and the kids can use them

we have both. Fanface mp3 player has been good and cheap.

Just managed to get DD three pairs of converse for £48 odd delivered!

They were already in the sale and then I added a discount code KIDS02 which gave an extra 25% off again!

Gone through Quidco as their cashback is 5% hopefully it tracks and paid with PayPal so I should get 3% back there too!

@Notlongnow1 I've just bought an escape room kit for the city we live in for DSD and her BF (early 20s). They have lots of cities and they have 3 for 2 on at the moment.
I've no idea if they are any good though! https://www.mysteryguides.co.uk/

@BBQCF these?

@BBQCF these?

They look great but maybe I misread. I thought it was more “solve a murder at home” type mystery boxes.

I purchased a solve at home one from Etsy and it was great. The seller was BlueCoconutMysteries. I’ve just logged in to check and they currently have 25% off.

Elizabeth Scarlett have 20% off everything today only. The pouches are pricey but gorgeous!

KenIsAnAccessory · 30/09/2025 10:32

Got the bargain jumpers thank you! Word of warning though, there were two delivery options, one being next day delivery for £3998.99- don't accidentally select that, would significantly low the budget!

I absolutely love them too. They’re properly lush - I think with the velvet and embroidery they feel like a real treat, so make a lovely gift. Thanks for this tip - I’m going to have a nosy now!

The only other thing is that I posted here recently to say that there are a few Elizabeth Scarlett pouches available to order on Bloom & Wild for £32 but you can use a referral code to save £10 on your order and get free nominated day delivery.

Obviously there are fewer options to choose from on B&W, but there are a couple of really nice ones and this way the cost is only £22 including delivery (I think delivery is £5 on the Elizabeth Scarlett website).

Hi,

Has anyone had any experience of the Mighty music player

My 8 year old has got into music recently and has set up playlists on my Spotify account. It would be great if there were a way to play these without stealing my phone. She’s too young to have her own phone and although you can play Spotify through our tv, she likes to listen to music in the bath and in her bedroom.

I do - I use it for running, it's great. Would be a really good option for her - screen free, really good battery life etc. I lend mine to my youngest when she has to do a school coach trip type thing as music helps her with travelsickness but she's not allowed a phone - battery lasted to Norfolk and back :)

Aha! This was the very thing. If anyone has any particular recommendations for especially great ones, I'd be glad to hear.

@jocktamsonsbairn@NancyCareythis is so funny….elizabeth Scarlett have been stalking me on fb for a few months and I’ve been thinking of getting my Sil a makeup bag. Do you know if they do any black fri offers or do you think 20% off is good?

This seems like a good deal if anyone is looking for a hairdryer. Boots link

I can recommend for anyone on the fence - shea thing obvs doesn’t last but have been using this hairdryer for about a year or more and happy with it

crocodilesandwich · 30/09/2025 11:39

is anyone able to send me a dunelm student discount code please? Tangibly related to Christmas as I’m trying to get my house sorted before Christmas comes- we moved in on the 18th December last year (nightmare!) and I’m determined to get every thing finished and lovely before this Christmas comes around!

Sorry I don’t know, but I would expect they would offer at least the same again. Might be worth checking their Facebook page from Black Friday last year to see what they offered?
