Gifts for tweens that are NOT fashion/beauty?

DD1 is 11, and has zero interest in makeup, perfume, and clothing brands, which seem to be the prevailing suggestion in the other threads.

She likes:

• Reading (Hunger Games, Jacqueline Wilson, and Skandar are current favourites)
• Nintendo Switch games (particularly animal crossing, stardew valley, Mario kart)
• Shiny pebbles and "gemstones" of the sort you see in gift shops

Any ideas gratefully received!

I second trying the Percy Jackson books - my kids are much older teens but my niece, who is 9, is totally obsessed with the Percy Jackson books (she loved Harry Potter although her mum has restricted the later, darker themed books because of her age).

She knows more about Greek mythology now, due to her love of the books, than I do and I did a year of it at University for credits!

Definitely worth a try.

When I get home I will copy and paste from another thread what I am getting my 13 year old, who is also not very into fashion or beauty. (Tho she is anime obsessed and many of her gifts relate to that.

But in the meantime, has she read the Mazer Runner series? Highly popular with kids that age who also like Hunger Games.

And, not quite your question, but I saw a gemstone advent calendar somewhere if that would interest her? Maybe Amazon?

You can also get a nice reproduction of the mockingjay brooch from Hunger Games, if she would like that.

These lights are very cute. Whilst on that site I also saw the Cat hot water bottle, the zodiac gemstone set and the massive fluffy scarf at the bottom right of the photo (which appears in other colours elsewhere on the site), so that site may well be worth a browse for ideas.
