Recommend me an action cam

My son is after a body-worn camera to record his bike rides but I don't want to buy him a Go Pro as I think he'll destroy it. Is there a cheaper alternative that anyone can recommend? Thanks! :)

Why is that? Are the cheaper ones terrible quality or hard to use?

I had a cheap one from amazon for my sons adventures, think it was maybe about 30/40quid. Worked well, sadly he lost it but will definitely buy another

Go pros are pretty robust if you have the cases on, I once ran over one in the car and it survived it. Maybe I got lucky but I’ve definitely put them to the test and haven’t broken one yet.
obviously if he loses it that’s another story.

I watch quite a bit of you you tube and we have a an old go pro.

most of the bloggers have moved to the DJI action range as It as better than the older go pro except the new go pro 12 is supposedly betters

i found this link. Suggest looking on you tube for suggestions. Also budget too? CEX is good for second hand stuff as it has a one year warranty. You should be able to find a lightly used one too. Or you can get an open box one from eBay- curry’s sell there returns on there but I don’t know the site!!

Dji action cam. The version 3 or 4 can be had regularly on amazon for around £150. Quality is excellent. Mine has taken a high speed tumble down the road from my bike (my fault) and not a mark on it.

Thanks all - I took an absolute punt on some Amazon cheapies and will be keeping this one as it is easy to use and the video quality is pretty good. Obviously not professional YouTuber-good but good enough for my 8 year old who just wants to record his cycle rides and watch them back on the computer later.
