Thought I’d start a thread for present ideas. I’ve got an older teen DD so looking for inspiration.

Ideas I have so far are:

gymshark leggings
hoodie - not sure which
new PJ’s
fake tan set
necklace
new balance trainers
skin care and makeup

what are your teens after?

Mine still all ask for Lego! (Will be 19, 17 and 13 at Christmas)

Clothes often
Experiences. DD has had in the past a foraging walk, a fossil preparation session and we went to see Hamilton .

I've got dd lovely silver cast necklace of an ammonite this year. She was admiring it and I managed to ditch her under false pretences and circle back for it so stuff just I know she will be truly surprised and thrilled by that one.

Mine wants a ninja slushi!

Onemoret1me · 30/08/2025 09:32

I have never even heard of a ninja slush but it’s looks amazing!

Harder for boys! So far for 16 year old ds I’m thinking
Bundle of driving lessons (he will turn 17 at Xmas).
electric shaver
posh cologne (not sure what brand)
playstation gift card.

Tbh driving lessons are so expensive that will probably be it!

psuedocream3 · 30/08/2025 15:53

Mine never seem to know what they want and never tell me.

Summer Fridays lip butter balms, costa gift card and maybe something from Hollister is all i van think of. I'm stuck for stuff she would actually want or like.

Truffle Shuffle and Campus Gifts are good sites to browse.
I always did something to read, (often several e.g. fiction set, funny book annual ) something to wear, something to do, something to listen to/ watch ( not relevant now) A game, PJs, slippers, toiletries novelties in a stocking
Main present often something electronic or a branded leather bag or a request.
Once did a themed birthday gift everything related to ice cream making, machine, sundae glasses, spoons, recipe books toppings etc
A themed Christmas for one of my girls everything rainbow colours.

My DD is nearly 16.
I've bought theatre tickets for Legally Blonde. She wants some Adidas Gazelles and then probably a voucher for Urban Outfitters and a voucher for BIAB nails.
Considering possibly a double bed too.

Babyhills · 30/08/2025 17:32

I have started to try and think too, so far

Trainers
hoodie
new bra
Starbucks gift card
teeth whitening strips (they have requested)
slippers
Haviana flip flops ready for next summer
makeup brush set
theatre trip for us all

I’m starting to think about 17 year old DS so on the hunt for ideas. I’ve got a few thoughts which relate to summer travel plans and going off to uni next year, but they’re all ever so practical, so keeping an eye out for more fun things. So far I have on the list -

  • decent quality/size toiletry bag
  • day pack (for travels)
  • travel charger thing for watch/iphone/airpods
  • travel adapter that has tab and usb-c ports
  • a tomtoc bag for storing cables and chargers etc.

for a main present, possibly a leather jacket, he has a bit of a notion for one.

Misslizzie96 · 30/08/2025 22:34

Ninja creamy

boxing punch bag

hand weights

portable phone charger

uncredible · 30/08/2025 23:45

They both like nice perfume so that will be the main present and then lots of bits - pjs , glossier stuff etc

Kelbowl · 31/08/2025 07:21

Mine is all about the perfume and nice handbags. She’s 16. She would also appreciate theatre tickets as she wants to see Hamilton

AbitmoreBert · 31/08/2025 12:29

Would also love some DS suggestions I find the boys so much harder than my dd. In particular stocking ideas (under £10)

I have bought DS17 who is off to uni next year a spirit measure, wishful thinking for sensible drinking maybe but he does use the one at home.

I always think I love doing stockings for my DS (17) and always have ideas for some fun quirky little gifts, but the reality is he doesn’t actually want them and so many go untouched and unused!

Things from the last couple of years that have been hits (but some may not be under £10)
Washbag
Bulldog toiletries
Hair powder/sea salt spray
Nice pen
Power bank
Multi USB plug
Charger cables
Wireless phone charger pad
Highway code book
Hobby-related bits - gym towel, golf balls/tees, darts
Sweets/chocolate
Other food bits/random cooking ingredients

PearlsPearl · 31/08/2025 18:25

On my list for DS so far:

  • Phone charger from tiktok that's bizarrely £25 but he really wants
  • Greggs gift voucher
  • Travel size aftershave (5-pack selection of Armani maybe)
  • Protein powder and protein bars
  • Lego minifigures
  • Jellycat treasure chest (family in joke, we always get them jellycats and have for years!)
  • Steam gift card
  • Ninja Creami or Slush
  • Rude exploding kittens expansion pack

Also considering a boxing punch bag, but this will be a big present because I'd need to get a steel bar fitted to the garage roof. Pondering this.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 31/08/2025 18:38

All I’ve got for dd (19yo) is an oodie so far as she needs a new one.

following for more ideas!

FunAnt · 27/11/2025 11:37

What about jewellery? jewelleryforteens.co.uk has some really affordable options for under £30 (and lots of earrings under £20). I've been sending this link to godparents/uncles and grandparents for a few years when they're not sure what to get!
