lovely, not too expensive, christmas book

every year I buy my great niblings a 'special' christmas book to share - eldest is currently 5. The idea is it will be kept for every year and read to them, not to read themselves at the moment.

I have done the Christmas Emporium ones and was thinking of the Night Before Christmas from either Bookishly or the Usborne pop up version this year (less 'special' but more fun at that age)

There is a lovely one at The Folio Society but its too spendy really - ideally top budget £20.

before I commit are there any other visually lovely ones people could recommend? - doesn't need to be that specific title, but Christmassy and special in some way. I had considered the Tolkein letters one but I don't think its the best gift for that agegroup.

These are all adorable and I want to buy them all.

I hope it's ok to jump on, but does anyone have any lovely ones for under 1s? I don't know if it's a bit niche, but I have a few to buy and I don't want them to just eat the pages 🤣

Yes! These books are lovely: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Can-You-Find-Santa-Christmas/dp/1035012618/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2WQDBH79ZK2XD&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.duc-x4FwarEGVD5YnirU4J2OObQ6dzhsGpzOpIBghIalxsnR1-mULvCvjQj-EAF3dUT60GmQVfIPy1Nphi4MKYc9TUjSSCMXqZ1uKYtySNWdv6yW1wmrBNr6Znz1WdrakPuivvWLCCG5n1Auj3JdJ44XM_S5D7J4QbhTjfsfqdNsB0Bben9iCe0x0t5hZrV01HqyiQsgHeceE6ZshW371A.Yy8HOKVUcj-iEsLDX8IB0BTstGdDBe1KfpDo-l-kMIY&dib_tag=se&keywords=axel+scheffler+books+christmas&qid=1764317408&sprefix=axel+scheffler+books+christm%2Caps%2C191&sr=8-3

Both my kids have loved them! The felt flaps are particularly good for very young babies and toddlers because they don’t rip.

We also like ‘Dear Santa’. There’s a board book version (it’s very similar to ‘Dear Zoo’)

For slightly older toddlers and children we’ve really enjoyed ‘You Choose- Christmas’. My 3 year old will spend ages talking about all the different options. https://www.amazon.co.uk/You-Choose-Christmas-story-choose/dp/0141378964/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=3NERDUM62S3WU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.pq5tGd6hAXGk7UF8P-_TtkRHs2T2EUiMSDnJgGAu8kr-j0LK8sllSIlCLL5IXF-jJA8jQ37PvWTSK7Cgn5UD8AgP8-mQlVo7yuIp2SG5ES8a9Cay9wD3IJ-VsA4wQF9xmMaFI9pgfvC2xVMJCyou_w1xdRLKms0-ldJV3HHc3mzKp_xHvaVwxgQtqu64l6c61T9xWLqF3G-5QLExdtNgvA.C_A7W451f6P9B9OmOT3_9PmBVJK1v4kVcE2LBnC1RX0&dib_tag=se&keywords=you+choose+christmas&qid=1764317820&s=books&sprefix=you+choose+christmas%2Cbooks%2C175&sr=1-1
It would be great as a family gift with children of different ages.
