What to buy - 22 year old girl

I need two gifts one birthday and one Christmas for my sons 22 year old girlfriend. They live away from us and I usually take two gifts when I see them in October for him to keep for her. Nothing big e.g. last year I got her the latest Sally Rooney book and some fancy chocs as one gift. Cost isnt a problem but we are at the small, nice, token gift stage. Any ideas as to what 22 year old girls like (I just have sons).

Following as my DD is turning 21 in november, asked her what she wants but she doesn't know. She wants to go to Japan but it's out of our budget atm.

I bought a couple of these last year and they went down well.

My dd is 28. She likes lego flowers, craft kits, fancy chocs and biscuits

These pouches/make up bags always make nice gifts.

Fragrance
A nice bag
Pretty much anything related to her hobbies (her favorite artist's merch, DIY kits, art supplies if she's into that, etc)
Could be something personalized like a custom planner with photos
If she's into digital art, maybe subscription to useful software, like a good photo editor or a video editing app.
High quality headphones
Tickets to shows or events she is interested in

Could be just cash so that she buys something she definitely likes/uses

Stackers are a brilliant gift!

Im buying one for myself, it's gorgeous!

They’re all different! One of mine likes perfume etc. Loves a Rituals hand wash to ‘luxury up’ her uni halls basic room or a Molton brown shower gel.

The other likes a book or some Formula One merch!

Just read above. Yes to jewellery box / stackers. TK Maxx often have equivalent. See also TK Maxx for nice branded sunglasses and earrings etc.

Interested to see Stackers going down well…I was bought one, it will be given away as I don’t wear jewellery!

Ask your son for ideas. I have nieces aged 22 and 21 and they like totally different things to each other.

I’m in my twenties, some gifts I’ve received from family over the years that I’ve really enjoyed are;

Stanley cup (got this 4 years ago and use it everyday and it still looks brand new) lots of places sell them, different colours and patterns available.

Lush ‘super milk’ leave in conditioner (smells absolutely gorgeous and I’ve repurchased once already) https://www.lush.com/uk/en/p/super-milk-conditioning-spray

Chelsea Peers pjs (the most comfortable and luxurious feeling pjs in the world)

I’ve also had some fun bits from Oliver Bonas (very fun, young, quirky designs.) My favourite gift from here was some salt and pepper shakers!

Board games (they are something that your son and his girlfriend can enjoy together and keep for a long time.) You might even get an invite to a games night?

Dressing gowns are a lovely gift too!

It’s so hard to buy gifts for someone you don’t know very well, and we know her even less! A lovely notebook can be a good gift if it’s something the recipient woukd use. Or a waste if not. TKMaxx often have some high quality but good value stationery.
if she has her own place, a vase and some flowers, or plants in a pot could be good. Or herb seeds and pots to plant them in.
Someone was talking about cake forks on another thread. If she bakes, or just likes cake,
they could be an option.
if she drinks, a different bottle of her favourite spirit, or the ingredients for her favourite cocktail.

A voucher to a restaurant near them.. or a beauty salon if she likes getting her nails done or a facial - ask your son.

islaw3048unfln · 06/08/2025 23:54

What kind of girl is she? Is she very into make up, hair extensions tan etc? Or is she sporty, bookish, quiet?? This might help....
